How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The key pickup, the communication with owner. The shower flooded out into the kitchen. There were cockroaches in the room. The cost was over the top for what happened. I didn’t receive my room number. I didn’t receive my pin code to get in after hours

Verified reviewGreat location. Easy to get to. Very close walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants. Unit clean and tidy and comfortable. Parking available. Good security. Complex also clean and attractive with pool and spa.

Fan didn’t work in one of the bedrooms, the aircon struggled to cool the apartment. No keys to lock the doors to the balconies so very dangerous for my young child, also couldn’t lock the door in a way my child wouldn’t be able to just twist the handle and leave the apartment. The shower also leaks water into the main bathroom area. My partner had to sleep on the floor in the lounge to make sure my son couldn’t leave the apartment and to try and stay cool.
Thanks for the feedback Jordan. We are pleased to say that the fan has been replaced and the leak in the bathroom has been fixed. The locks are outside of our control and not something we can change.

the pickup and drop off of keys from a different location was inconvenient and no where stated the actual name of the hotel which made it difficult to find and we had to ring the host. The car park was too low so had to find a car park close by which was difficult. the shower was horrendous because if you put the water on too hard the water would flow out of the shower. The couch was super uncomfortable. The second bedroom fan did not work.

Firstly, it's clearly stated in our listing, as well as in two separate messages prior to your arrival, that key pick-up is at an external location due to building and body corporate regulations. The car park height is also clearly specified in the listing, allowing you to view this information before booking. Additionally, the building name is provided twice prior to check-in and is clearly labelled on the key pick-up envelope. The couch is only a year old and selected specifically for comfort in the lounge. The issue with the shower has since been resolved, so future guests will not experience this. Verified reviewOnly 2 negatives 1. collecting and delivering keys off site especially when it's not in the direction of travel. 2. Need better signage around pool area. Many little children jumping off rocks into pool. The little ones weren't jumping far enough out. Their parents were there. I was worried someone would hurt themselves or worse but did not feel I could say anything.

The place to pick up the keys was not very close to the actual apartment. Receptionist in the building was awfully rude (although not associated with airbnb). Building name was not on the emails so it was a little bit difficult to find. Shower floods. Furniture very outdated. Small.

Broken dining chairs. Lounge peeling so every time you sat was covered in black leather/vinyl. Clothes horse rusty. Next door to lift so a bit noisy. Needs vacuum cleaner it is Hard to sweep carpet. Would give a 9 if these things were fixed.

Verified reviewThe unit was very clean, and it's in a great location. Just a quick walk to the shops and beach. Key pick up was easy. Plenty of parking.
It's quite a small unit. It was fine for one night though. A better blind in the master bedroom would have been good to block out more light.
