How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis s our third stay at Mt Quincan. We love the tree top cabins. They are cosy and rustic, and you have a real chance of seeing tree kangaroos. We walked around the crater , and on the second night saw two female tree kangaroos, one with an older joey and one just poking its head out of the pouch. There is also plenty of bird life, skinks and geckos to keep you amused. A fantastic experience. . Will come back again.

Verified reviewLocation and unique design of accommodation that gives guests a treetop view. The breakfast provisions were appreciated. Wildlife, especially the tree kangaroos
The place was very cold in the mornings (in winter), and although there was a fireplace, there wasn't enough kindling or fire starters provided. Reception only opened for 90-minutes per day, so not much help readily available.

couldn't get the fire going not enough kindling, The couch and cushions smelled mouldy
We're so sorry to hear you had trouble getting the fire going during your stay. Our team is always on hand to help, and we wish we'd known about these issues during your stay so we could have addressed them immediately. We'll definitely be looking into the mouldy smell as this isn't something other guests have mentioned or the team have noticed, but we do want to ensure everything is perfect for future visitors. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention.

Verified reviewBreakfast pack provided was adequate.
Website showed amazing 180 deg views over the tablelands and Crater. However the treehouse I was given, over the crater, had at most a 10 degree view of part of the crater, rest of the view was blocked by rainforest scrub. Very disappointing. It should be advertised as a rainforest canopy cabin with a glimpse of the Crater. See photo of crater view from cabin deck.0 The bed is way too soft, and lumpy, like a marshmallow. If you have a bad back or knee issues it's very uncomfortable. And if you're a stomach sleeper, forget it, you get bent backwards. Terrible night sleep. No mention of the steep slippery paths to access the cabin was on the website. If you have mobility issues, like a dodgy knee, it will be a challenge. No step stool provided in kitchen. I'm not overly short at 5'4, but I still couldn't reach the top shelves in the kitchen. The TV was smaller than my computer monitor.
We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay. We're truly sorry to hear that certain aspects of your experience didn't meet your expectations, and we'd like to clarify a few points. Regarding the views, the Crater View Treehouse which you booked does offer a view of the crater, which is distinct from our Tablelands and Canopy Treehouse that provide expansive, 180-degree panoramic views. We always strive to accommodate guest preferences for a Tablelands view if we are made aware prior to arrival and availability allows. We understand that bed firmness is a very personal preference. While the majority of our guests find our beds comfortable and enjoyable, we regret that it wasn't to your liking. We have a variety of treehouses, and some treehouses do have shorter, less inclined walkways. We absolutely accommodate guests with mobility issues in these specific treehouses when we are informed. Photos of the walkways are also available on our listing to provide a clear depiction of access. Thank you again for your valuable feedback.

Verified reviewBeautiful location and accomadation. Experienced tree kangaroos from our balcony.
Not enough food or vegetarian option for breakfast. Casual backpackers in active wear who where unsure of what they should be doing or saying. High end price for low end service.
We're so glad to hear you enjoyed our beautiful location and accommodation, and that you had the special experience of seeing tree kangaroos from your balcony! It's a highlight for many of our guests. We're sorry to hear that the breakfast and service didn't meet your expectations. We offer a complimentary country-style breakfast that includes bacon, eggs, chipolatas, sausages, a selection of cereals, milk, and orange juice. We would have been more than happy to prepare a full vegetarian breakfast for you if we had been made aware of your dietary preferences. Regarding service, we pride ourselves on operating with a 100% local team. Occasionally, during exceptionally busy periods, we do bring in additional staff (that may be from overseas) to assist with housekeeping. We aim for every guest to receive excellent service, and we regret if this was not your experience. We appreciate your valuable feedback as it helps us to continually improve.

Verified reviewThe 180 degree windows made for an immersive experience. The breakfast made our stay extra special. It was quiet and peaceful. And the jacuzzi tub was big enough for myself and my 6’2” husband!
Only the short crater walk was open and there were 2 dead wallabies on the not so scenic path. This shouldn’t be sold as even a trail.

Verified reviewScenery around the accommodation.
I clearly informed the accommodation I am vegetarian and they said they would take care of this while preparing breakfast. Unfortunately, they kept the vegetables which was meant to be for me and sausages for my daughter in one big plate. Liquid from the sausages were everywhere on the plate which was mixed with vegetables. Regardles of dietary restrictions it felt unhygienic to put vegetables, mushrooms and meat products together. I also highly recommend to take enough food when staying at this place. Restaurants and cafes at nearby towns close early. Additionally, we thought the place could have done with some renovations as it generally felt a bit outdated. Online it was advertised that there were several walking tracks around the summit and to the base of the crater, however, there was no clear signage. Generally the place was in a beautiful location, perfect for a getaway. Expect to see some beautiful sunsets and sunrises.
