The bed has seen better days. It was very uncomfortable, batteries in ALL the airconditioner remotes were flat, lucky we had some with us that we could use.

Kitchen utilities lacked some essential items, e.g. a proper knife, more soap, some salt and pepper would have been good. Some shelves were very dusty.

I thought the cleaning was really bad. Dirty and greasy dishes, the bathroom was not as clean as usual, maybe the cleaning was changed.

For me the Oaks hotel is the best hotel in Moranbah.

The bedroom door would not shut properly, nor would the door on the ensuite bathroom.

The welcome when we arrived was lovely - we were given clear directions on how to get to our room and were told where we could get a meal etc.

Modern and fresh decor and everything provided to make the stay very comfortable. Very comfortable bed, and appreciated there being two separate bathroom facilities. Parking very good and conveniently located. The receptionist was very welcoming and friendly and was an absolute pleasure to deal with.

My room was on the outside, directly opposite Mining Camp. Noise from people driving to work, buses and truck movement from 3AM. Rooms need noise insulation. Very poor sleep for 3 nights.

The air cons wouldn’t turn on the first night, the second night we tried and again and wouldn’t work. We opened the unit and cleaned the vents and they were inches thick in dust and grime. Not very impressed at at all. The tv in the bedroom and very little reception and was in watchable. We stay at a lot of Oaks and have never had a problem, we chose this accomodation over the cheaper one that looks exactly the same beside it and unfortunately we made the wrong the decision.

a lot rooms were dirty and the dishes were not clean with food and grease still on bowls and plates. We were double charged for the room. The authorisation was taken on arrival and then charged again on check out to then be told oh all we can do is cancel the authorisation and you will just have to wait for the money to be back in your account and to top it off when we went to sort out the double charge the receptionist had to phone the manager twice and message him for him to come down leaving us waiting for 30mins. Terrible customer service. The table and chairs outside are falling apart. The car park is not secure. Balcony is hot and tiny with a PowerPoint that does not work. Only provided with one key and with the front door having to be key locked it surely would be deemed a fire safety hazard if one person had to leave leaving the others locked in the unit unable to get out.

Unable to use main bathroom due to broken tiles. Shampoo, conditioner etc used by previous occupants and not replaced. Other members of our family stayed in another room with and the dishwasher + dryer didn’t work.
