Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. They are old and need some work. There were birds living in the roof, mosquitoes inside (many kids and adults ended up with bites overnight) and some of the bathroom facilities leaked and caused mess.
The location is very convenient. We stayed there for our wedding with 23 of our closest family and friends and it was walking distance to and from Peppers Creek Barrel Room and Chapel. We liked how individual and unique the houses are.

Many rooms had an awful smell and there were quite a lot of ants, cockroaches & bugs throughout the house. For the price of the accommodation I think these issues need to be addressed

One of the beds a little uncomfortable but ok. Would be great to have enough lounge chairs for 6 people given the house sleeps 6. Only had enough for 5 people squashed in

All rooms could have been a little cleaner - just those extra touches you expect for the price
The areas where all the guests could gather. Well equipped kitchen and all rooms had their own bathrooms attached

Every evening (around 8-10pm) a very bad smell would permeate the front rooms meaning we would have to vacate that part of the house. Luckily, we had space to move around but the smell did impact our ability to enjoy the property in the evenings. We had to stop watching TV and move away from the fire and vacate the front bedroom as a result. We did notify Steve (Maintenance) who came and looked around, checked the plumbing after the first night but he didn’t find anything related to the smell (which had gone away by morning) and the smell returned again that evening.

We arrived at “The Residence” and house and the house was very dirty. From the 4 bathrooms 2 were working The bathroom in the master bedroom had no working lights the shower head was broken and the sink clogged. One of the other bathrooms has the shower the sink and the toilet clogged So here we are, 10 people with 2 usable bathrooms. The washing machine didn’t work. The other problem was the security. We were celebrating my daughter’s wedding @peppers creek so we were in and out all day. We found a person looking through the windows and when we asked him to leave he jumped in to a car and run. The third problem was the smell of a dead animal that we couldn’t find where it was coming from. As i said before we were celebrating my daughter’s wedding and for the price of this property i expected a flawless place, clean, airy and comfortable and it wasn’t at all.

I was especially excited to use the wood fireplace during our stay, as it was a key factor in choosing this property. We had friends visiting from overseas and wanted to share the cozy winter experiences that Sydney offers. Unfortunately, the fireplace was out of order, which was quite disappointing. Additionally, the outdoor balcony lights were not functioning, further dampening our experience.
The house was nice and large, perfect for a large family.

The net on tennis court needs to fix as it was too lower and we couldn't fix it

There was a few things that need to be addressed No plug in kitchen to wash up anything & not enough dish washer tablets for dishwasher. Air conditioning systems not working correctly. Two sliding doors would not open.
