Everything. Comfortable,clean. The owner has gone out of their way to make it feel like a home away from home. So much attention to detail. All the extra breakfast items and provisions provided. Great location to explore The Tarkine. Would highly recommend. Actually do yourself a favour if your looking to explore this region, stay here, you won’t regret it.

There really wasn't anything we didn't like.

The host was lovely and very welcoming. The self-contained unit had everything you need plus more, they supplied food, drinks and condiments. The little stream out the back was great to sit and relax and unwind. I would stay there again if I'm in Smithton.

A magical experience from the outlook (Aussie bush with a river running through it), superb modern kitchen, spacious bathroom with heated towel rack, comfy bed. Beautifully and tastefully furnished and a more than adequate breakfast. Could not have asked for more.

I felt Laura and Alex had gone above and beyond.there was nothing we didn’t like.

The breakfast was very good .. plenty of choice of cereal and lovely fresh berries, yogurt, fruit juice, fresh coffee and more.

We loved everything about our 2 night stay at Platypus Waters. The level of comfort, cleanliness, and attention to detail were the best we have experienced in our travels. We especially loved the privacy and beautiful outlook to the river. The new recliner seating was greatly appreciated, as were the generous breakfast provisions. Fully stocked fridge and cupboards with all the basics and enough to make a good breakfast. Bread milk butter cereal jam yogurt fruit toaster etc. Chromecast on TV and electric Jason recliners. View over river and close to town and best place to eat

Nothing it was perfect.

Perfect location to explore Smithton & Stanley. Host Laura was super friendly & even provided us with a lovely surprise of cold bubbles as we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary. Our little dog Evie was made welcome so that gets our vote every time. With a very well stocked fridge & pantry you could stay put & just enjoy watching the ducks & platypus in the river at the bottom of the garden.

Nothing!

This was our second stay in Tasmania. The first was excellent and then we arrived at Platypus Waters and found this was excellent also. The bonus might have been to see a Platypus but unfortunately that did not occur. The previous occupants the day before our arrival did see one and filmed it so we were unlucky. The accommodation is well equipped, furnished, provisioned, clean and comfortable with that lovely view over the Duck River. So well recommended and thank you Laura and Mark for offering such a delightful unit.

Fantastic view of the river from the balcony. The B&B itself was spacious and fully equipped. Best of all it is pet friedly and so we could bring our little dog along.

I honestly cannot think of a single thing that we did not like. This place was our ideal of a B&B. Full marks to Laura and Mark for thinking of everything.

Some accommodations are adequately outfitted. Some are well equipped. But Platypus Waters was EXCEPTIONALLY well outfitted. Everything a visitor could hope for was provided. If we had known how wonderful it would have been we would have booked for more than just the two nights.

Platypus Waters is A+ in location, hospitality, amenities, actually it was just fantastic all round. Easy to find, close to town and with a beautiful river running right behind the property. There was enough breakfast provisions to last us the 4 days we spent there. On our first night we didn't arrive until after night had set in, Laura had turned on the lights and heating for us so it was as comfy as could be. Loved it all. Thanks Laura.

Two nights in retrospect was too short and although I had a glimpse of the Platypus, just not quick enough to get the camera out.

Good selection of provisions and wide choices for Continental breakfast. All the utensils and cooking appliances were there if you wished to have a hot meal including BBQ facilities on the outside deck, which overlooked a small stream, inhabited by at least one Platypus. Very spacious accommodation, large lounge/kitchen area, comfortable Queen size bed in a large bedroom. Spacious shower and the vanity cabinet included the most thoughtful and extensive range of equipment, you may need when traveling. This was also one of the few accommodation facilities that included a night light, extremely important in my opinion for safety.

Easy to find, private and a great location for exploring Stanley and the Tarkine region. Comfortable and well appointed with delicious breakfast provisions. There's also the possibility of seeing a platypus in the creek.

Nothing could be better.

Great range of breakfast options including plunger coffee! Really comfortable bed. Hot water heated quickly for use in kitchen and shower. Smithton proved very interesting and Stanley is always a delight.
