How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewGreat location. Close to cafes, surf club and restaurants. Walking distance for all. Lovely staff good communication. Spa bath was nice and relaxing. Nice there were extra blankets to use.
It was a shame the rooftop spa was not there. Would have been nice to have a tv in the bedroom.

Verified reviewIt was immaculately clean. Easy parking with lift access. Close to the beach and shops.
There was NO hot tub nor dishwasher as stated in the booking.com blurb. As a disabled older woman unable to use a beach, I was looking forward to my private hot tub, like the neighbouring units had on the roof. There was a small spa bath in the bathroom which would accommodate one person. In addition the resort pool was closed because of a chlorine dump.
Hi we have refunded you due to the incident with the chlorine dump in the pool which we did not have any control over. The body corporate in the process of redoing the rooftop in phases and our spa was removed due to works and will only be returned later in the year. The other units that have a spa have already complete their rooftop works. In addition, there was a hot tub in the unit and after your enquiry I investigated the term hot tub, and it can either be an indoor or outdoor spa.

It was dirty ! Broken ! Smelly and just gross for over $300 a night this is horrific The staff are rude and refuse to acknowledge the filth the huge sign on the fridge with directions to the roof top spa leads you to a grubby spot on a roof where the spa once was and ... someone stole the bedroom t.v Don't expect to hang your clothes cause the hangers and robe are black with filth and the spare blanket smells like something died on it but they do kindly supply a bible I did have to clean the floor to walk across it ... pics to prove everything attached
This is a grudge review with previous issues you have with us as troublesome tenant. After you realise, we managed the unit you were harassing us through after 12am in the morning hours with text messages. I have reported this with Booking.com. There is nothing wrong with the unit, and you never booked a spa unit, it is a rooftop unit with a view.

The spa was already removed before you make the booking, and everything was changes on Booking.com. Not sure how you could have booked the spa if it was no longer there.

Bed was very hard, bedroom door to balcony was ajar and leaked with the rain and had a massive draft , curtain rod in main bedroom poorly fitted which in turn fell on my head multiple times
I really think this review is very unreasonable. The curtain was installed professionally by a curtain company. We still do not know how harsh you pulled the curtain. When you contacted us, we offer to go there, and you said it is not needed, but in the meantime, you felt you were catfished. The only thing you wanted was a partial refund. The bed is also brand new and expensive. I cannot supply beds to guest needs - soft or hard, this is a medium plush mattress. Wonder what the review would have been if we offered a partial refund.

We have communicated with you with text messages regrading everything, not sure what we more need to do, considering it was the weekend the cyclone was supposed to hit the Sunshine Coast, and everything was closed. I also have to look after 35 guests' needs in a time of a cyclone situation.

Glen, that is very strange, because there is a guest in at the moment and everything is working. Too be honest, I think you have an issue with operation. You struggle to get the driveway gate open as well. And you phone us at 9am at night lock yourself out of the apartment, and we went out of the way to help you.

Thanks. Everything is new, we only still need to renovate the bathroom, which we can only do in the new year, due to availability. New curtains, furniture and painted. The BC also replacing the spa's mid next year, waiting on rooftop renovations. This is why we could not have done everything, but 75% done.
