How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The resort is getting tired and could do with some refreshing, especially around the pool and bar areas.

The pillows could have been more comfortable!
Our accommodation was as described and we had a lovely ocean view. The room was clean with sufficient towels, etc. Excellent onsite restaurant. The pool was great with plenty of seating and towels provided. Location was within walking distance of the board walk, swimming lagoon, shops, restaurants, buses, etc.

It's a bit tired, and 1km from the main area which is a long way in the heat. Quite expensive for the standard, there seemed to be others closer and cheaper and better

We arrived at night the Rydges sign was difficult to spot
Breakfast was $70 a couple which wasn’t value for money so after the first day we breakfasted out (much cheaper)

Decor is dated. The bed did not have a doona - too cold with aircon running & too stuffy without aircon. Pillows were" flat" but we did receive better pillows when we asked for them Couch in disrepair

Very tired looking building and rooms very old looking and very basic Hotel doesn’t provide basic amenities anymore. Had to go out and buy a simple shower cap as they no longer provide them??? Only 1 blanket in the room and just a top sheet on the beds.

The gym, we booked this place based on the gym as we were after a gym, the picture you had when booking is NOT the gym you have. I am not sure you can say you have a fitness centre. It’s a shoe box room, no windows, no air and no equipment. Was very disappointed to see this once we arrived, to make it worse, one staff member said “ what do you want me to do about it” like they didn’t care in the customer.

On leaving I asked for a tax invoice and was told it will be emailed through but nothing. Called next day in afternoon and got woman who told me she could not do anything because it was booked through booking.com and they would have to send the invoice and she then hung up on me. Called late Sunday afternoon and the staff member said not a problem and sent the invoice straight through. I hate being lied to with attitude is just not good for business.
Everything worked out to be just what was needed for the night. Simple yet very comfortable.

Having to pay for parking then carpark was closed for 2 of the days. Some mould in bathroom.
Check in was easy, price was good but we booked way in advance. Rooms comfortable. Laundry facilities available. Staff were so beautifully helpful always.

Food & drinks expensive & then an extra 15% surcharge was added because of an event on in the city. No towels were left after the maid had took our dirty ones. No hair dryer in the room.
Nice view of the mountains from our balcony, evening meal was nice. Pool area is nice with drinks being brought to your sunbed an added bonus
