How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewBeautiful resort but greatly over priced for absolutely everything .
House keeping with accomodation leaves a lot to be desired . It was very much hit and miss as to whether your room was correctly attended. Restaurants were very expensive .

Verified reviewNice breakfast and dinner in Ilkari Restaurant, but lunch is not recommended.
The lunch menu should offer more variety. Additionally, it is important for housekeeping to inform the reception once they have completed their tasks, as towels will not be changed unless specifically requested. It seems the towels were not changed, possibly because a request was not made.

Verified reviewLarge hotel with multiple restaurants to choose from, staff were so helpful on arrival providing a map to the area. Free shuttle service (although easy walking distance around the area) and activities picked you up right outside reception. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Our favourite thing was the artist Heather Duff in the lobby painting her gorgeous artwork, which we bought to remember the most amazing place & holiday!
Quite an expensive stay per night.
Dear Yasmin, Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay, our helpful staff, the free shuttle service, and the beautiful artwork by Heather Duff. We apologise that our pricing did not meet your expectations. We strive to provide fair and reasonable pricing for our guests. Kind regards, Ayers Rock Resort Team

Verified reviewWe enjoyed our whole Uluru experience. A very unique and remote location and a very well organised and comfortable hotel. Food was very good as well.
We were lucky on our last night to secure a table at the Poolside restaurant at about 8.20 pm after returning the drone/ light show at twilight. Another couple arriving a few minutes after were tuned away although there were vacant tables. Perhaps they secured a table in the main restaurant but it is buffet only and although excellent is an expensive option for anyone searching for a lighter meal. Maybe an al Le carte option in the main restaurant would be an improvement.
Dear Simon, Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your entire Uluru experience and found our hotel well organised and comfortable. It’s great to know the food and your stay at the Poolside restaurant added to your visit. However, we will also review the reason why other guests were turned away. We appreciate your suggestion regarding an à la carte option in the main restaurant and will share it with our team for consideration. Thank you again for recommending us to your friends and family. It was a pleasure to have you as our guest. Kind regards, Ayers Rock Resort Team

The accomodation was tired and we didn’t believe it was five star as stated for a superior room.

Verified reviewlocation was great, so close to Uluru,
Food drinks etc was all very expensive, $50pp buffet breakfast, $100pp dinner buffet. It's a long way from everywhere and while there are other options they're all controlled by the same group. Parking is not close to your room, so 3 - 5 minute walk each way to carry everything.
Thank you for your feedback, Antony. We are glad you enjoyed the location and your visit to Uluru. We understand that prices may seem higher than expected, but in remote areas, costs often reflect the increased logistical expenses related to transport and supply. We appreciate your comments and hope to welcome you again one day. Ayers Rock Resort Team

Dear David, Thank you for your kind words. We are so glad to hear you enjoyed the tours, the food, and our amazing team. We completely understand how a hot spa would have made a difference after long days of exploring. While we currently do not have one by the pool, we do offer treatments at the Red Ochre Spa located within Sails in the Desert, and we hope you were able to treat yourself during your stay. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back again. Best regards Ayers Rock Resort Team

Verified reviewThe location to the Sewing up a storm in the Desert was great. The room was very comfortable and clean on arrival.
I stayed 4 nights and my room wasn’t cleaned in that time. I asked a young girl on Reception to have my room serviced on the Sunday. Not done. I again asked two Receptionists on the Monday, still not done. I was given clean towels on the last night of my stay. Floor was still dirty, garbage not taken out and dirty coffee cup left in bathroom. For the amount of money that Sails charges, it is appalling that rooms weren’t serviced, especially after asking twice.
Dear Marda, Thank you for your feedback and for joining us for the Sewing Up a Storm at Sails in the Desert. While we are pleased to hear you enjoyed the retreat itself and found the location and initial room presentation satisfactory, we are very sorry to learn of your experience with housekeeping during your stay. We sincerely apologise that your requests for servicing were not actioned despite multiple follow-ups. This is not the standard we aim to uphold. Your comments have been escalated to our operational team for review. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. Kind regards, Ayers Rock Resort Team
