Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaWish they had a little kitchen facility but we knew that before booking, so can’t really complain. Decent little fridge, microwave & kettle if you just want the basics. The window shutters were a bit too large for the space and you needed to move the bed if you wanted to open them. The ones in the bathroom too would hit the tap if you tried to open it but at least the blinds worked well
The location was fabulous, centrally located & close to most hotspots. Felt very safe & was easy to find. Cute coffee shop walking distance & another 5 minutes away. The room was snug & cozy with good facilities (and a great hot shower!) Bed was super comfy & sheets were clean. The AC/heater was also great.

AustraliaOMG the couch was dreadful, it was not possible to sit on it, cushions collapsed and was extremely uncomfy. Not that we wanted to use it, but it should at least be suitable for a quick relax before heading out again. That was the only complaint!

AustraliaAir conditioning unit was not big enough for the area and repeatedly turned itself off. The shower head was very loose, possibly rusted through and did not spray water correctly.
Perfect location for exploring wineries in the area.

AustraliaSome of the furniture needs updating, especially the sofa. Some sound from the upstairs room as it is wooden floors, but not really a problem.
Great location, close to Smiths Beach, Yallingup Gallery and loads of wineries. Also close to Dunsborough for shopping. we had a one bedroom apartment on ground floor with lovely patio overlooking the gardens and ponds, Heaps of birdlife. Property is self check in but we met the owner around the grounds. Older lodge style building but units are gradually being done up. Ours had good bathroom, comfy bed and new kitchenette fittings. TV was set up with streaming services, and the wifi was great. Right next door to Lavender Tea rooms, for light meals and Devonshire teas all day, and on other side was Barnyard restaurant and winery. Excellent food and service for breakfast or lunch. Really enjoyed our restful 4 day stay.

AustraliaI get why they have old style step in & out shower in bath. But it is dangerous. If you have an upstairs room, the drying of clothes is difficult.

AustraliaWhilst cleverly designed to take up as little space as possible, the "kitchen facilities" were just a little too cramped, all (including a tiny fridge, and a microwave) being located in a small cupboard with double, louvred doors, one of which would not stay open, making it awkward to access. Also, I wasn't very keen on having to use the bathroom basin adjacent to the toilet to wash dishes and cutlery; I doubt it would be allowed (on health grounds) in a residential home. The lack of a top sheet on the bed. The bed linen was of beautiful quality, but the weather was too warm to use the doona but not comfortable enough to sleep with no covering, and I didn't want to keep the air-conditioning running all night. The bathroom mirror is located at one end of the basin unit and perpendicular to it, which makes it not really usable for females wanting to apply make-up, as one is obliged to stand about a metre away. However, it is not fixed to the wall, but hangs, so I was able to move it (but felt a bit guilty for doing so) and place it behind the taps, although that was not ideal as I had to bend down in order to see myself in it. The lack of even a small table, with a chair, to use for meals. Having to use the coffee table was very uncomfortable. Taking luggage up the stairs was very difficult (but I am elderly; perhaps younger people don't struggle), as they are quite narrow and, rather than having a landing half-way up, simply turn quite sharply. Despite the gorgeous view, in future I would ask for a ground floor room. Being able to hear the normal conversations of people in nearby rooms, although they were not unreasonably noisy people; I don't know what the owners can do to mitigate this. The self check-in, and general lack of staff to consult. I couldn't open the key box when I arrived, because I didn't use enough force to operate the mechanism. Luckily, as I was struggling, a young couple exiting helped me out.
The view - I had an upstairs room, with a lovely outlook in two directions, overlooking both garden and bushland. The tree immediately outside one window, just centimetres away, contained a bird's nest, but I never got a glimpse of its owner. The room itself was quite spacious and had character, with a pitched ceiling, and was not just a standard, stark square, which was visually very appealing. It also had a safe, which was an unexpected bonus. The air-conditioning was very effective, and very quickly brought the room temperature to a comfortable level. The location - it's just 11 kms from Dunsborough, so far enough from the "hustle and bustle" of all the tourist traffic, but close enough to make it very convenient. Good for short stay.

AustraliaThe location was great. It's only 5 minutes from Yallingup beach and general store, and a good spot to stay to explore the region. I didn't realise how close it is to the Barnyard1978, which offers some of the most delicious food in the area and it's literally next door. Also next door is the quaint Cape Lavender Teahouse. Famous for it's scones! My ground floor room was very spacious and comfortable and I loved having a little verandah and outlook to the big and beautiful garden.

New ZealandNo seperate kitchen sink to do dishes but this didn’t matter.
Handy to all activities . Lovely having the Lavender Tea House beside it . They do a great Devonshire Tea . This is a series of small quaint apartments within one building which is self contained. There is a lovely garden around it and a winery at the back. We were located at the back and it was very quiet.

SingaporeAlthough we received text messages from the management, I didn't realise this was an unmanned reception. I know it was the Christmas season but we saw no staff at all during our week long stay and it felt very impersonal and not as welcoming as a lodge evokes. It is not really suitable for a family and although it is nice to be away from the crowds, it is noisy if you are the back of the building with traffic from the road junction, upstairs neighbours and visitors to the other eateries. The wifi was patchy and the TV reception was lagging and unwatchable. We enjoyed our stay due to the location near to the beaches but need to be mindful of expectations.
The location was great being close to Smith's beach and at the crossroads to Caves Road. The lodge was quaint and the garden at the back was pleasant to sit out at. There were food venues close by.
