How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Only parking for one vehicle. Additional car we needed to park offsite - across the road but was an additional $80 for our stay.

Not managed by Sirocco so adjust your expectations. Not as clean as expected, some internal maintenance required. Third room has curtains rather than walls with a fold out lounge as well as bed. This may suit family and not appeal to others. Keys must be picked up at location away from Sirocco and you may find difficulty parking to achieve this. Building work noise behind Sirocco did not affect the comfort of this unit.
Hi Kerri, Thank you for your review. I agree with you about the wonderful location and the superb view and spacious layout. Looking out from the balcony there is one of my favourite spots in Mooloolaba. It is disappointing however to hear that you didn't find the unit as clean as you expected. Due to your comments we have now employed a person who's only job is to visit each property prior to guests checking in and ensuring everything is 100%. They are to check everything including cutlery, crockery, windows and mirrors, and to turn on lights, air conditioners or fans if necessary and to spray deodoriser to ensure the guest has the best experience possible from the moment they step in the door. We only advertise the unit as having two bedrooms so the extra king bed in the second lounge room is just a bonus as the owners thought it would be much nicer for additional guests to be able to sleep on a king bed, rather than the tiny fold out lounge that was originally in there. The suggested maintenance has been completed by the owners on their last visit and each time they visit Mooloolaba they try to do a bit more. With key pickup, we suggest guests park in Sirocco's carpark and then just walk the fifty or so meters to our office to retrieve keys. In some circumstances and when possible we have even met guests at properties and handed them the keys in person, so this is also an option, we just need to be asked. We are here to please.

Is not a 3 bedroom unit, as advertised. A curtained area with foam rubber, a futon that does not lie flat, is not a bedroom. Made sleeping arrangements very chaotic. Sagging, old couch. Dining table with only 4 chairs.

It is advertised as a 2 bedroom apartment which states: Bedroom 1 - 1 large double bed Bedroom 2 - 1 large double bed Living room - sofa bed The spacious apartment with a balcony and sea views features 2 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, a flat-screen TV, an equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and an oven, and 2 bathrooms with a walk-in shower. Towels and bed linen are featured in the apartment. The property has an outdoor dining area. As you can see it is advertised as a 2 bedroom, 2 living room unit with a sofa in the 2nd living room. Maybe this was a mistake on your part thinking you had booked a 3 bedroom apartment

The hotel is outdated and smells damp. • The air conditioning system in the room is leaking, and the damage to the walls suggests this has been an issue for a while. • The carpet is very old. • There are a few cockroaches. • Bathroom ventilation is poor. • The beds are uncomfortable, leading to a bad night’s sleep.+ noisemakers neighbors.

I am so sorry to hear that you found these issues, but am glad you mentioned them as we were totally unaware of any of them apart from the carpet that is being replaced shortly. The carpet was damaged when the bathroom renovation was done and as it was just prior to the Christmas period, getting someone to do it has been an issue. Unfortunately we cant please everyone with the bedding as some like a soft mattress and some prefer a harder one. The aircon leaking is probably due to the humidity we have been experiencing lately. I have found in my home, I set it to "Dry" which seems to stop condensation forming. I am unsure what you mean by the resort being outdated as it is only just over 20 years old, and is one of the more luxurious resorts in Mooloolaba. We strive to provide the best possible guest experience and considering that 4 of our recent reviews were 10/10, we would really appreciate it if you could help us by clarifying a couple of points that you made. Where did you find the cockroach ? (This is the first report of them, ever) Do you prefer a soft bed, a medium or hard matress ? Can you please advise where the noise was coming from so we can try to address the issue ? We apologise for any inconvenience you may have suffered. It is a shame that you did not contact us so we could have made your stay more comfortable and enjoyable.

Could have been cleaner, holes in the carpet in the main bedroom, only 2 dishwasher tabs for a weeks stay, only one extra rubbish/bin liner supplied. While paying a very premium price, I'd expect to not have to go get these little things. Its the small things that make a difference. Furniture was outdated. There were mattresses shoved behind a couch and tiles from a recent bathroom reno in the walk-in robe.

Unfortunately the carpet was damaged during the bathroom renovation and due to the time of year, getting it repaired is taking longer than usual. I do apologise for the small amount of dishwasher tablets. There should have been at least 5 or 6 there for you to use, as well as extra garbage bags, but the cleaner failed to leave any extra and as such has been counselled as to our expectations. The mattress behind the lounge is a topper for the sofa bed. Unfortunately there is nowhere else to keep it and is only used when someone uses the extra bedding. I am going to remove the tiles from the robe and bring them back to our office. Being a resort, there is absolutely nowhere to keep any extra bits and pieces. Is there any piece of furniture in particular you mean as being outdated? I'm glad to hear you loved the condiments in the fridge. We always strive to do something special for our guests. We apologise for any inconvenience you may have suffered. It is a shame that you did not contact us so we could have made your stay more comfortable and enjoyable.

Bed and pillows were not good, we didn't sleep well because of that. people in apartment above us were moving furniture around and we couldn't sleep because of that. Needs a good clean for dust. Would have appreciated more body, wash, soap when staying for 3 nights. We weren't provided with enough product. Had to get cleaners back to clean dirty glass table and dirty mirrors
