Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThere's really nothing to dislike about this place except having to leave when my stay was up.
I chose this cottage mainly because it is pet friendly. It has everything to make ones stay pleasant. Everything is provided, so you really don't need to bring much except for personal belongings. It even has an espresso coffee machine with pods to enjoy your coffee outdoors in the peaceful garden. It's only a walk away to the beach and all shops are also in the vicinity. From here, you can go to other nearby towns such as Queenscliff. I loved seeing some of the historic wall hanging and old cabinets from that era. Such a beautiful feeling of serenity.

AustraliaThe windows were a bit stiff to open. We had quite a few ants in the kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and utensils but perhaps a microwave dish and a colander would be helpful.
We were two related couples staying in this cute, cosy cottage which was clean, warm and comfortable and met our needs very well. Heating and cooling was fantastic. We really appreciated what was provided for us like plenty of toilet paper, soaps, dishwashing tablets and garbage bags plus the basic cooking supplies like oil and salt and pepper. Communication with the host was easy to do and replies were punctual. The location was fantastic being a short walk to the water and into town. We would be happy to stay here again.

AustraliaA couple more things in kitchen, like a slotted spoon, some small bowls etc would be nice additions.
Heating, room for furry friends to roam, basic but good

AustraliaUnfortunately we only discovered the beds had electric blankets when packing up on leaving. The beds themselves were very 'firm.' (Perhaps a nice, thick mattress topper would be a benefit (Kmart/Spotlight?)for future customers.)
We liked everything about this cosy little cottage. The host really did a lovely job making everything ideal for a weekend stay. The shower was really lovely and the kitchen well stocked with items. The coffee machine was a lovely touch as was the gorgeous open fire.

This delightful cottage had the charm of a past era combined with all the modern comforts (eg excellent heating, dishwasher and washing machine, comfortable and spacious beds and a recliner lounge). It is in a quiet area of Portarlington and is an excellent base for visiting Queenscliff and local wineries. We really appreciated that the hosts accommodated a late change of dates due to illness and their communication and the ease of the key box entry were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

AustraliaThere were cobwebs inside most of the windowsills in the kitchen.. there were also a lot of cobwebs on the outside of the windows where the driveway was.. there was 1 roll of toilet paper per each day we were staying at the cottage.. normally this would be fine but we were entertaining on New Year's Eve and had to go buy extra rolls !!! The vaccum cleaner was broken.. making it had to clean up and had to use the broom ... Checkout was at 10am, the cleaner was at the front door at 9:50am eager to get in to clean..
Great size property and great location. Just a stroll to the beach and a short walk to the main strip of shops. Loved that it was pet friendly. Had all the amenities required for a short stay. Decent size rooms and good size backyard for entertaining. Had a nice stay and was comfortable. Thanks for having us

AustraliaA few little things needed attention: - very dusty windows/spiderwebs -cleanliness inside fridge, shower heads/taps. Finger prints and crumbs detracted from the overall feel of cleanliness. - privacy at the front bedroom/room - due to building works across the road some sheer curtains or blinds would have been more comfortable.
Like a home away from home, all necessities, comfortable bed and couches, kitchen well set up.
