Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaRather noisy as people were wandering and shouting outside the doorway a lot. Northern Safari was cancelled - which was unfortunate in whale watching season. (We did go whale watching again instead).
Nice sized room compared to the Hotel rooms we have booked before. Bigger kitchen but only a microwave in the unit - barbeques outside and downstairs.

New ZealandDon’t take the cheaper Micat ferry unless you want a 2km walk through the sand with your bags. No option of a transfer either.
Great location. Lots of activities to do.

AustraliaAfter a few days I was really bored with the limited food choice.
The resort has many activities to keep you busy. We especially enjoyed the whale watching cruise and the wild dolphin feeding was a magical experience for my children.

AustraliaVery dated for the price and noisier than what we are used to but at the same time it was lovely to hear families creating happy memories and enjoying themselves.

AustraliaThe tiles in A block are very 1970s as is the carpet square. It's also shedding and unravelling. The tiles are in good condition although old, so could be overlooked, IF that square of carpet were to be removed and New Carpet (tiles) were to be fitted/installed. Dear Brett, the hair length doesn't compensate for the retreating hairline!
1. We self catered as we booked the apartment style accommodation. So I can only say the meals were Fantasmegorical... 2. We managed very well with our Fabulous A block location and glorious picture window for winter warmth and magnificent outlook. 3. The excursions offered were great and we particularly enjoyed the performances delivered by Brett, he's a natural in that role. We were glad we did the Northern expedition with him. 4. We'd been Welcomed by Staff, smiling, hospitable and informative, smartly presented in Logo branded outfits. All readily identifiable. All neat and clean and tidy... until dear charming but scruffy Brett! 5. The layout and range of facilities are most amenable. 6. Unfortunately it was Pool maintenance time so those very inviting Day beds under the lovely big umbrella couldn't be utilised. But I awoke each day hoping...

AustraliaThe room appeared to be quite neglected and dusty, especially in the less visible areas under the beds.
The beach boasts clear, pristine water. The spa and pool are welcome additions. The staff provides helpful service.

AustraliaOn the last day, the noise from slamming doors and music in the Kookaburra Lodge where we were staying was loud. (A wedding party.)
Loved the location and food. Loved feeding the wild dolphins on the beach and exploring marine life in the glass-bottom boat. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

AustraliaWe only found out about the works being carried out at the resort when we checked in. We subsequently had to endure building noise from 7.30am to 4pm each day. As the works were carried out in front of our apartment block, we also had full view of the trucks etc coming and going which is not our area of interest. The food choices were also disappointing, particularly since we were there between Easter Monday and Anzac Day when the resort was packed and there were queues everywhere. The grill was shut on both days as this is usually the weekdays it closes - makes no sense when it's really busy! Also, there were hardly any vegetarian options.
We had a lovely view from our balcony across the water towards Brisbane. The resort is very accessible for someone with limited mobility. All staff members we encountered were very friendly.

AustraliaWe stayed in a King Deluxe Room for 2 ppl, room has no crockery, cutlery ie plates, knife, fork or spoons for eating, toaster, chopping board or knife, these small inclusions would have made our stay a little more comfortable...maybe the resort could consider these inclusions for future guests or byo Dolphin feeding is crowded so get there early. Order, eat & drink early for breakfast, lunch & dinner as restaurants & bar run out of menu items.
Friendly helpful staff, comfortable beds, clean, basic appointed accommodation with easy 75min transfer to island but you feel like you are miles from home.

AustraliaPros: Beautiful location Lovely beach with access to amazing diving/snorkelling Room was comfortable Ferry service was efficient and well run Cons: Location was beautiful but completely overrun with motorised vehicles of every sort As you walk on the beach you have to avoid quad bikes and cars. The eco centre has a photo of a turtle that was run over, but there has been no effort to prevent this from happening Once you get to the wrecks, you have to dodge huge boats (there were 14 there on one of our swims) and jet skis. Why is there no boat exclusion zone? Why isn’t the safety of swimmers prioritised? Some of the boats are engaged in fishing, which is known to increase the risk of shark interactions for any swimmers in the area. The dolphin feeding is a few seconds of interaction amongst several hundred people lined up. Not an authentic wildlife experience. Overall: a beautiful site that lacks any regulation to prevent ecological damage, and fails to provide a safe environment for swimmers/divers.

AustraliaThe resort has a shop, but the options are very limited: almost no vegetables (so if you want to cook a salad, it is not possible), no slippers (so if you forget yours or they broke, too bad), no porridge for kids except expensive ones in single use bowls. We stayed at the Kookaburra building and one of the lifts' d oors did not open properly from time to time. There are some options for eating out, but they are quite limited. You have 3 options for the evening: grilled meat and fish (absolutely delicious!); fish and chips cafe with burgers, pizzas, salads; Stone and Fire restaurant which is quite expensive (average dish is $40) and dishes mostly are very spicy (the menu shows 4 options: no spices, one pepper icon, two peppers and three) and we couldn't eat the dishes with even one pepper, so spicy they were.
Heated towel rack, plenty of beach towels, staff is amazing, and there is something to do even in rainy weather (table tennis, billiard, trail walks). Dolphin feeding is extremely well organised, family friendly and overall it was a fantastic experience. Pools are aways clean, we saw how meticulous staff are cleaning it (both pools) every day. Each level of the building has washing and drying machines.

AustraliaIt was a nice resort. In need of a refurbish. Could hear the people in the next room very loud and clear. Heard when the carts were going and coming back. If you want to sleep in there is no chance. You have to walk 1.2km to the car park if you drive there. The staff were very efficient and friendly. Plenty of food variety to buy. Merchandise was expensive. The grounds were very clean and tidy. Lots of places to have BBQs.
