Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandThe location, close to the airport is particularly convenient. To get to the airport can be a pleasant 20 minute walk through parkland, or a 10 minute drive. The excellent bar downstairs was holding a pub quiz: there was great atmosphere and people were friendly and having fun. The room seemed to have been recently refurbished. The communal guest area is decorated in art deco style with sitting area, coffee making, books.

United StatesThe room, which was very comfortable, would go from a good room to a great room with a few small improvements: put a hand-held shower along with that rain shower. They've got hand-held showers in the shared bathrooms, so room 11 can use the same! Put in a bedside light, and finally, install some electrical outlets that you can put your charger in so you don't have to use the outlet over the bathroom sink!
This is a great value hotel located not far from Sydney's International Terminal. In fact, if you've got a small rucksack, you can walk it. Transport options from the hotel into the city are very good. The staff is great and everything is kept immaculately clean. As other reviewers have pointed out, it's an older building, but they've done a good job installing accommodations within. You are above a pub that's open late on the weekends, but from my room any noise was minimal and didn't bother me at all. The pub food was really well prepared. For breakfast there's a cafe up the street, which was excellent. I'll happily stay here again!

AustraliaNot really a complaint more a couple of amusing things... 1.The internal door to the next room was not lockef and I advised staff of this but they didn't lock it and in the middle of the night a couple were checking into the next room with the door between our rooms wide open! A bit embarrassing!! I had to call out that we were in bed and the door could not be locked between us. The couple didn't stay next door . 2. Also I was going to see my partner off at the airport at 5:00 a.m. and come back to sleep for a couple of hours but we tested the code to get back in and it didn't work so I waved him off at the door. Just keep these things in mind when you're checking in.
Very friendly staff. Great location for an early departure from domestic airport for my partner. Very comfortable bed. Basic but clean and comfortable

AustraliaAt the time of booking and reading the description of the hotel. Then I arrived and I have to say. I'm fine with the staircase and then depending on the days progression, the stairs is to narrow for me to climb myself.
Tempe Hotel is great value for money and the room attendant was fabulous, also to mention the pub menu is tastefully fantastic.

New ZealandHowever, one major downside was the loud music playing in the hallway until 3 AM. While I understand it might be intended to create a nice ambiance during the day, at night it made it really hard to sleep – especially for guests like us who had to wake up at 4 AM to catch a flight. There was no way to turn it off or block it out, which was frustrating. Big suggestion for the hotel: Please consider turning off the music near the rooms at night. Most people stay here because of the proximity to the airport, and getting even a few hours of good sleep is essential.
Great location and friendly vibe, but please turn off the hallway music at night! We really enjoyed our stay at Tempe Hotel – the location is fantastic, just a short and cheap Uber ride to the airport. The bar and restaurant downstairs are a big plus, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Another great touch: complimentary tea and coffee available 24/7, and the toiletries provided were high-quality. We also loved the stylish design and cozy atmosphere.

RussiaWindow didn't open. A bit noisy at night. There is a casino+bar downstairs. Noise insulation exists. It doesn't block 100% of noise though.
Walkable distance to the international terminal. Friendly staff. Late check-in available. Free coffee/tea. Free parking. Close to IKEA.

United KingdomArrived at the hotel to a lovely welcoming lady who checked us in really swiftly and explained everything we needed to know. Highlighted the safety of the building overnight as it’s also a pub, the daily deals in the pub restaurant and also ensured us that they were on hand if we needed them. The room was bright and airy with lovely high ceilings and a SUPER comfy bed. We selected a room with a shared bathroom and wow, the shared bathrooms are incredible! It felt like having a shower in a show home they were that clean and modern. After checking in we had dinner downstairs, the day kept getting better! It was a Monday so there was a deal on rump steaks where they only cost $20.. these did not disappoint! Such great value and oh so delicious. Followed by a chocolate brownie which easily sits at the top of our all time favourite brownies, hats off to the chefs.

AustraliaThe whole staff were welcoming from first arrival carrying 2 x heavy luggage bags up stairs to our room. The manager was very friendly talking to us, listening to our thoughts and also holding our bags the morning of departure while we had breakfast at a local cafe. Our bags were then taken by the manager (a lady) to the Uber awaiting us. Credit must go to the people behind this rebuilt of what was a very run-down old pub, bringing it back to its former glory with modern conveniences such as ensuite in 80% of the rooms. A memorable stay in a thriving area of inner Sydney.

AustraliaThe Tempe Hotel far exceeded our expectations. A stopover for our trip to the UK its location was excellent. When arriving the staff were so friendly and welcoming it was so very refreshing. The balcony room we stayed in had a great comfy bed and was super clean. Happy hour in the bar and the specials on the menu board meant you certainly have bang for your buck. We stayed, ate and drank at the Tempe and would do it again in a heartbeat. When and should you stay at the Tempe there is a wonderful cafe just down the street called CAFE DZAJKO that you must go for breakfast, the lovely Macedonian family would appreciate your business. This review is for a short stay only as there is nothing for you to stay longer.

AustraliaHaving to carry suitcases down stairs. However, the staff carried them up for us so that's a minor issue. Could do with a chair in the room.
Clean and tidy pub. We were there on a Saturday night....no noise issues. A very comfortable mattress on a queen bed. The room was an old hotel room renovated with an ensuite added. It was very satisfactory for a short stay.
