How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

They loved the fact that they could go out to swim and come back and wash down right beside the outside area of their room before entering. The room was very spacious for the two of them. They also loved the facilities. Very clean.

Arrival felt so awkward. Receptionist didn't smile at all and greeted us with what seemed a practised speech. It was really unwelcoming, uncomfortable and weird! The property is obviously really old and despite the renovations, still feels really old and yuk. We had the cheapest room type and it was tiny. It smelt like cheap deodorising spray. Bathroom felt old. Hot water took a long time but thats understandable (old pipes maybe?). The bed was ridiculously uncomfortable making noise every time we moved. We did not get any sleep. When we advised the hotel of this, instead of looking into it or apologising, they said no previous guests had complained. Like we made it up??! Not good customer service! We just felt that the website and photos didn't represent the property correctly. The penthouse/beachfront rooms would be great though. And the pool (and pool fence) is lovely! Another piece of advice for management - We realise you need to have set check in times, however if the hotel is quiet, giving a sightly earlier check in goes a long way. We politely asked if we could arrive slightly earlier and was told they were full and couldn't offer this. It turns out that the hotel was nowhere near full, there were plenty of rooms available. In fact it felt like a ghost town when we were there! We did not see any otger guests! And even if they were full, does it really take 4hrs to get these tiny rooms clean?! Lol! They were just being lazy and difficult. Nearly every time we check into a hotel we get early check in, so its nothing unusual. Something else that could be nice - We advised beforehand that it was our anniversary. Although we expected absolutely nothing - if, for example, there are better rooms available, it would cost the hotel nothing to upgrade and would once again go a long way to making guests happy. At the very least a little chocolate or note on the bed wishing the guests a happy occasion. It's not difficult!

In terms of your arrival experience, we will follow up with our team to ensure check-ins feel more welcoming and personal. Regarding the housekeeping and check-in times: rooms are often still being serviced after departing guests, particularly if the hotel has been busy the night prior. As a small boutique hotel, our housekeeping and front-of-house teams are not as large as those of bigger properties, which means we need to carefully manage check-in and check-out times to ensure rooms are thoroughly prepared. For this reason, we cannot always guarantee an early arrival. We also note your comments about your anniversary. Unfortunately, this wasn’t mentioned on the booking, and while we are always happy to make a stay special where possible, we do ask that these requests are directly communicated so our team can prepare in advance. Room upgrades are complimentary gesture we sometimes offer when available, however they cannot be expected or guaranteed. Guests who prefer more space and features are encouraged to book one of our larger room categories to better suit their needs. With regard to the bed, we understand that comfort can be subjective — some guests may find our mattress too soft or too firm, others may find it comfortable, and we're sorry it wasn't quite right for you. We appreciate you taking the time to provide detailed feedback and this has been shared with the management for review. Verified reviewIt’s so pretty, very Miami Beach style. Comfortable, toiletries were amazing, if you forget anything don’t worry it’s all there. Mini fridge is stocked up. Free bottles of water. Liam was so lovely. Really wish the weather was better to utilise the pool and front hammocks.
Mini fridge stocked up so much leaves no room for your own stuff. Minibar is quite pricey. Planes are very loud. Ana messaging in the morning before check out time regarding car being gone when it wasn’t. Some confusion around rego.

theres not really anything to complain about but Its a simple room though so there was no cutlery and i wouldnt recommend the coffee from there, but overall its a really great stay and id love to stay again.
