Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The hot water cylinder in the bathroom had a persistent odour.

Perfect location can also mean that it's noisy, being right on the main road through Coolum. Rooms are very close to each other so sitting on your balcony does not provide much privacy from neighbours. Bathroom was a bit tired and could use with a make over to look less dated and worn out.
Fantastic location right across the road from the beach, the surf club and other shops and restaurants. Elevated apartments have great sea views and the rooms are quite large. The facilities are basic but all you need for a short stay.

Absolutely wonderful location, directly across from the beach and walking distance to everything Coolum has to offer. The pools and spa's looked beautiful although I must confess we did not get in as it was a bit too cold for us. The room was slightly older but very comfortable.

It was a little tired. Our appt had peeling paint and rusted ceiling fan. A shabby couch and outside areas peeling with bird poo everywhere. Also we were provided with 1 roll of toilet paper for the week. We had to purchase if we needed more.
The staff were fabulous and couldn’t have been nicer. It was in a great location right across the road from the beach and close to all the restaurants and shops. Also 2 nice pools.

Ageing property and could do with a good clean and probably needs a refurbish. Very dusty and ageing kitchen and bathroom.

The receptionist was exceptional, very welcoming and accommodating with a bathroom change etc’. Will definitely stay at the Beach Retreat again.

Bathroom was a little difficult for us being a little older. Spa bath type shower/bath we had to be extra careful getting in and out.
Location is perfect. Close to patrolled beach. Food and shopping also very close

First room we were in smelt awful. The staff came & put cleaner in drain, but still smelt. Asked for another room. They were happy to give us a different room. 2nd room much nicer altogether, no smell. It would have been nice to have a table to put the kettle on! Also room was very bright at night due to outside lighting.
The room was bright & airy, could see the water. Staff were very accomodating.

My expectations of the room were met. There was nothing that I didn't like about the room. Thank you for including the map with the key in the lockbox, I would never have found it without it.
Large room with coffee table and courtyard outside with views to the beach. Spa bath in bathroom. Decor is a little dated but very clean and tidy. Location is amazing - right across the road from the beach.
