Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Just the hallways seemed to having washing piles and randomly sitting along the walls of the hallway, including a mop and bucket. Thought that made it seem a bit less organised, but was quiet while we were there, and pleasant.
Staff was excellent. I wish I could recall her name as we had been on the road all day and it was late at night by the time we could arrive. She set up a key for us and was so attentive to ensure we would find our room easily. Bed was comfy, shared bathroom was pretty good. Mostly modern. Slept well. Would have booked a 2nd night if we were planning to stay longer.

Shared bathrooms and only 1 combined shower/toilet for women. Some rooms are very small.
Great for the price. Top end of town. Lots of parking. Pub meals downstairs sensational, best food in Kal.

Room was a bit cold as the heating wasn't very effective and the balcony door let a draught in. We were a little concerned about parking outside as there was a pile of glass in the car park that looked as though a car had recently been broken into. But our car was OK whilst we were there so maybe break ins aren't common.
Room was clean and appeared to have been quite recently renovated. Fridge and TV in room. Small guest kitchen which was great for preparing breakfasts. Staff were very friendly and upgraded me to a better room on arrival. Bathrooms were shared but were clean and I never had to wait. Good pub downstairs. There was some music on Friday and Saturday nights but it didn't go on too late.

I hope the door locks can be replaced with easy-to-use cards as part of the renovations.
Given that the hotel was under renovation, which I knew before I booked, everything that was operational was fine.

Affordable, lovely old building, the bar etc isn't opened yet, its a work in progress and is going to be great when it reopens fully, which looks like it's not to far away from that, a bathroom upstairs would be great, tried hard not to wake up anyone in the building, the floors are rather squeaky, perfect for the 1 night for us.

The shower needs repair. This is below standard. It leaked and one shower was very cramped.

The men’s showers did not drain properly. The water flooded the area adjacent to the shower and my footwear and shower mat were sodden by the end of my shower. The floor tiles need to be lifted and replaced so they drain back towards the shower and not the other way round.

On top of the hill location was nice however the noisy locals late at night were not.
The friendly staff onsite, were very eager to make sure I had what I needed and the room were rustic old charmy style and the bed was fairly comfortable. Lower area under renovations but will be nice when finished.

Entertainment from TV was null and void in room one....... no antennae cable fitted and appears has never been connected compared to room 2. No milk or water in the bar fridge but enquiry to staff member sorted problem.
room was comfy for the 2 night stay and small tea/coffee room available. The bathroom facilities were ok but drainage seems to be a problem after several people had used the showers, ie. water all over bathroom floor.

The whole pub is getting a full makeover, but we were warned, and everything went very smoothly and the actual rooms were great Comfortable, good quality fittings etc, good heating. TV incl'g streaming. And a fair price for a very busy week (big mining conference) Staff on the phone very efficient and helpful, and friendly
