Location was lovely and peaceful, close proximity to the beach . House was well equipped and very comfortable for a large group. The large deck was also great. Communication with the host was very easy and flexibility with check in and out was very much appreciated. Would love to visit again !

The property wasn’t described accurately and was much smaller than expected (to fit 10)- the unrenovated section is in stark contrast to the renovated areas and ‘2 bathrooms’ is a stretch - it has an additional tiny ensuite with a broken toilet seat. It is advertised as air conditioned but this is only in the main area and the bedrooms only have standing fans and are extremely stuffy (we were not there in big heats). The downstairs ‘self contained area’ has no ongoing ventilation and the musty/mouldy smell was continuous even once opened up this area. There is mould/dirt all over the fly screen door and growing on the container of washing powder that was left. All of the bedrooms had a strong mustiness to them which was particularly unpleasant - especially in the wardrobes which permitted the rooms (I would not hang my clothes in there). The carpets are old and sticky. Some of the walls are grubby. The main bathroom was very old. The toilet leaked (and smelt) and the bathroom vanity area had no door (this opened up on to the hallway connecting the bedrooms) which would be awkward if you had 10 people staying. Both sinks (one cracked) didn’t drain efficiently. The shower screen was old and hazy. The bath is a very old spa that has instructions not to ‘lean on the spout’. The outdoor furniture for the upper deck had no cushions. The downstairs outdoor furniture was unclean, filled with spider webs and the stand alone hammock was dirty and covered in mould. The garden is not maintained. The main bedroom looks on to the road and the shed. The blinds in the downstairs section are broken. I had to put the numerous cheap diffuser sticks away has they were so pungent too. I contacted Maureen to let her know I had done everything to air the smell out to no avail and my concerns about the carpet and bathroom. She acknowledged the excessive damp due to ‘unprecedented’ conditions and her intention to get a plumber and install a pipe to move water away from bedrooms.

Its location. A brief walk to Greenfields beach and the white sands walk. We could also ride to Husskison from the property. Well renovated and functional kitchen and dining area. Flooring in the renovated area. Outlook from the main upper deck which is nice a big and overlooks the National Park. Alexa to play music of choice. BBQ. TV in main area and bedroom (note bedroom has no streaming options). Outdoor table is big with good chairs. The host’s quick responses.

Yes it had all we needed. But needed some maintenance and proper cleaning.

The property was a little weathered and needed some maintenance. It certainly needed the cleaning team to be updated.

    The Location.
