Nothing could have been better .it was perfect.

We ordered scones on arrival. the best scones I've ever had. we went out exploring the area and stayed in every evening .It felt like coming home we didnt want to go out at night .Mary & Derek are so lovely they felt like old friends . we rally enjoyed the proprety. we will come again .

Just the distance from Woodend, which was about 10 kms. I was there for the Woodend Winter Arts Festival so needed to be in town at different times of the day. The weather wasn't good & I was sometimes travelling at night so I was worried about wildlife on the road. However, this would not prevent me from staying at this place again.

Everything! It was delightful - warm, clean, quiet & private, being completely separate from the main house. A great breakfast was provided but I took my own food. I knew breakfast was provided but wasn't sure how good it would be. Next time, I won't need to. When I looked out my windows in the morning there were several kangaroos grazing on the lawn & there were lots of beautiful birds.

Poor phone reception and no WiFi but it is a get away retreat so if your looking to done tools and recharge , this is definitely the place

Great location both Derick and Mary are fabulous hosts . I would recommend this stay to anyone . Excellent , quite , fabulous get away

If you lose your way, finding someone to ask might be tricky, but modern sat-navs coped easily.

Everything was available for us for breakfast & the setting was glorious.

A terrific stay - Mary made us feel very welcome and the cottage itself is a gem. Extremely comfortable bed, a beautiful clawfoot bath and thoughtful touches (including extensive breakfast provisions) - not to mention the kangaroos literally outside the door! A wonderful place for a rural getaway - highly recommend.

One of the nicest places I've stayed in regional Vic - so cosy, clean and beautifully decorated. Mary and Derek are excellent hosts (along with the roos!) and have thought of every detail in setting up The Retreat.

There was nothing we can mention.

A light breakfast muesli. Yoghurt fresh fruit toast variety of jams etc. fruit juice large bottle of water. The hosoffeted scones with jam and cream at extra costs which was excellent. Very hot weekend air con was on when we arrived. Lots of books on hand board games. Tennis court beautiful location away from the main house. Host very friendly and left us to ourselves in a perfect location. A most beautiful retreat and the cottages was ifa very high standard.

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at the Retreat. The cabin locale was quiet and tranquil within easy drive from Woodend and surrounds. Communication with Mary prior to our stay was excellent and directions for check-in easy. The cottage was immaculate with lovely decor and sophisticated styling. There are many places about the cottage to sit and take in the country air, glorious gum trees and the local kangaroos. Breakfast ingredients were ample for two days, we also used for morning teas whilst sightseeing in the Macedon Ranges. Would definitely stay again.
