A little sleepy atmosphere if someone is looking to make friends as Theres isn’t really a bar at the hotel. But that’s a small bit from an extrovert. The hotel was fantastic!

My stay at the Vulcan was very nice! The staff was pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was tasty. The nightly HH was a nice touch for a wary traveler who didn’t want o venture far the first day. :)

The bed was very uncomfortable, the pillows thin, and the room quite small.

The free breakfast was quite good and they gladly accommodated my GF dietary needs. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The building itself is a beautiful old heritage piece, quite well restored. Shower pressure was good.

The room was narrow you can't open a suitcase properly and the closet is too small for 2 people. The bathroom was always too cold because there's no heater in it and it was winter time. Even though breakfast is included you will not find eggs or hot food and you need to pay extra for a proper coffee instant one is available they call it cold breakfast so you will have bread, cheese, yogurt, ham, some fruits and cereals the only hot thing is water for tea bags and instant coffee. Also the room is equipped with a smoke detector that emits a small sound and light every few seconds even though it is small but it might disturb when trying to get asleep.

The hotel is a beautiful Victorian style building in a quite neighborhood about 10mn walk from the lively Central Station. The room was cozy and the bed confortable and everything was very clean. The double window also gives good acoustic and thermal insulation.

Very limited breakfast though I seem to recall this was mentioned when I booked online. Coffee was instant, though you could pay for a proper made one if required.

Easy to find and park car nearby. Very friendly & helpful staff who went to great lengths to make my stay comfortable.

Easy walk from Central Station to Vulcan; very easy walk to UTS (& it’s function centre) for the conference I attended.

The dust in the blanket. I had a bit of trouble getting the TV to work and had to call reception.

Friendly staff, complimentary breakfast, good location, soundproof windows. When I asked for another doona instead of a blanket, housekeeping obliged and it was sooo much better. The blanket had hair on it from someone else.

Windows are locked so no fresh air and the room can become stuffy after a while and there is nothing to do about it. The toilet sink is very small with no shelf above it (although it looks like there used to be) so need to juggle between the soap, toothpaste, toothbrush and other things whenever using it.

Very nice and quiet place, staff were very nice and welcoming.

Parking being a few blocks away was a bit of a hassle

This is a perfect location for UTS. Stayed for the graduation ceremony and it’s a short walk so getting ready and to the ceremony was hassle free. Great staff that were helpful.
