Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesWe did not like that we had to leave. We could have happily stayed for weeks.
Wedgetaildown is an extraordinary destination. The accommodation may be the best VRBO/AirBnB we have ever stayed in. It is a perfect size for one or two people. The unit is lovely inside, with very comfortable furniture and beautiful artwork, and with huge windows looking out over the wild property. The unit is perfectly appointed and supplied. Although it attached to the main house, you wouldn't know it as the rammed-earth walls prevent any noise transmission, as well as keeping the room cool in summer. We found the kitchen to be well designed, and it had everything that we could want, including a delicious basket of breakfast food. The shower was delightful, and there was a washing machine, which came in very handy!

United KingdomNothing to dislike
Property was in a great location, centrally located for everything we wanted to experience whilst on Kangaroo Island. The accommodation was spacious, stylishly furnished and spotlessly clean. Facilities and amenities were very thoughtfully considered - we wanted for nothing. We saw many kangaroos and echidna from the accommodation window - wildlife heaven! Would highly recommend and if we are fortunate enough to return to Kangaroo Island, we would 100% stay there again.

GermanyThere is absolutely nothing wrong with it.
This accommodation is a paradisiacal place in the middle of nature with ever-present wild animals. The hosts Betty and Peter provide guests with all the important tips and things they need to live comfortably in the flat, including delicious provisions for breakfast for the first few days. The tastefully and fully furnished flat impresses with many small details. Everything has been thought of here! It is ideal for a couple and offers plenty of privacy for a relaxing holiday. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas hob (without oven) and lots of utensils. The hobby chef will not be left wanting. The bed has a soft surface on which we slept comfortably. The days we spent in this accommodation were a highlight of our trip to Australia. Many thanks to the hosts. .

United KingdomOnly negative was that we were foolish enough not to have booked a longer stay.
When we first saw Wedgetaildown on-line it seemed too good to be true! Well, it is real, and it is magnificent. Few places have such a lasting affect as this. Dear Betty and Peter, the perfect hosts, with friendliness, helpfulness and kindness in abundance. From the home baked bread, to wine, and chocolate gifts, and simply their lovely conversation. Their vision, and the work they do here for wildlife and nature, and for its future, is awesome. Thank you. The accommodation is just wonderful. So much thought and detail has gone into it, to make it the perfect stay. Whilst you are remote, there are all the modern comforts of home and more, with the bonus of real nature outside. Say hello to the Kangaroos every morning and evening, as you sit outside absorbing the raw beauty of this place and the glorious sunrises and sunsets. Not forgetting the Goannas, Koalas, and abundant birdlife Centrally located on the island which makes it very good for visiting the rest of glorious Kangaroo Island. The night sky is simply breath-taking. Staying here, was a privilege, and one we will never forget.

AustraliaPeter and Betty were lovely hosts. The B&B is set in a beautiful spot, great for relaxing after a busy day exploring the island, we enjoyed watching the stars at night and spotting the wildlife. The accomodation is very spacious and comfortable, kitchen is well equipped, plenty of provisions for breakfasts. I loved sitting by the window in the evening to watch the kangaroos and fairy wrens graze in the clearing. WiFi is very quick as well. The B&B is in an rural location, but the directions to get there are detailed and there are plenty of signs. Lots of wildlife on the roads at night, so if you're a nervous driver or less experienced with country driving be sure to get back to the B&B before nightfall. The location in the center of the island made day trips to the rest of the island very easy, most places are 30mins drive away. We will definitely be back again, it was the perfect place to spend a week on KI.

United StatesEverything was Wonderful!
We stayed at Wedgetaildown (on Kangaroo Island) for three nights but wish it could have been longer. We arrived near dusk and were immediately captivated by the wildlife that greeted us as we proceeded down the long drive to the property. Peter and Betty are terrific hosts and extremely knowledgeable of Kangaroo Island. They went above and beyond to make our island experience more than we could have imagined, helping us refine our itinerary, recommending restaurants, and providing numerous other insights. We enjoyed feeling their passion for the island and its wildlife. Inside, the guesthouse was very spacious and clean, fully up-to-date and sustainable, and contained everything we needed to feel at home, with an ample supply of breakfast food to use at our convenience. The guesthouse is located on a large, open, quiet, majestic property teaming with kangaroos that entertained us each morning and evening; yet it is still centrally located making the entire island very accessible. For example, we were able to visit Seal Bay to the South, Flinders Chase National Park to the West, Stokes Bay and Kingscote to the North, and American River and Penneshaw to the East – and we still had time to walk, explore, and experience their expansive Wedgetaildown property and gaze well into the night at the most star filled sky we had ever seen. We highly recommend Wedgetaildown as your base of operations for experiencing Kangaroo Island. A couple clarifications worth noting from the current Booking.com general description: 1)The property is located on Kangaroo Island, 2) There is One spacious/private Guesthouse accommodation, Not multiple guest rooms.

United KingdomTruly wonderful location and great eco-friendly accommodation, beautifully designed and fitted out - the log burner was a welcome treat on a cold night. Our hosts were so kind and helpful, with a lovely welcome pack. Then there were the kangaroos, echidnas, cockatoos and of course wedgetailed eagles to keep us company - heaven!
