Portland's water supply was disgusting and we couldn't drink it or make a cup of tea, but this was not the fault of our hosts but should be passed on to the council and water providers. At the function we attended, this seemed to be a common complaint from visitors to Portland.

The unit was easy to find not far from the main street. The breakfast was comprehensive and really appreciated as were the facilities, comfort and cleanliness.

Bathroom and shower floor were very slippery when wet, which may be due to floor cleaning chemicals and was a lot better on the second accommodation day. Batteries in TV remote turned TV on, but not enough to turn it off. Room was very dark at night and may be useful to have a 1 Watt LED night-light. Breakfast selection was OK for one morning, however lacked quantity for two mornings. Bathroom shower alcove allowed water to spray onto bathroom floor easily, so bath mat needed careful positioning to not become soaked. Pictures of property showed one photo with a microwave and one very similar without, which was frustrating re planning for food prior to arrival as the advertisement stated no microwave listed.

Easy to find. Great bed and shower. Some breakfast included. Plenty of power points. Facilities were good. Near to main shopping street. Private. Aldi, Coles and Woolworths all within three blocks. Multiple eateries nearby. Quite clean. Private entrance. Had a microwave even though not listed.

There was nothing I didn't like.

Beautifully presented room with spacious ensuite. Bed was extremely comfortable. Good quality bedding, everything immaculate. A good selection of breakfast provisions. Very quiet and private. Car spot right outside the door. Lovely host and great communication. Heater was put on in advance which was so nice.

The remote on the TV is awkward to use. Some further instruction would cut down on the frustration level and time taken to learn it's idiosyncracys.

Nicola had everything prepared and greeted us. The room is quite spacious as is the bathroom. Very modern. Comfortable bed. Despite being on a corner it was nice and quiet.

The accommodation at WhaleEscape Portland is exceptional, as are the hosts Nicky and Ian. Lovely people. Very clean which I am very particular on when staying away, very comfortable king size bed, ensuite and kitchen amenities in the room are also excellent, as is the off street parking. Quiet even though you are only one block from the main street for food and two blocks from the water. We would highly recommend WhaleEscape and will be back when we race at Portland again. See you soon! :)
