Super thin and uncomfortable mattress. Staff had removed all plates and cutlery from the kitchen because apparently no one had been doing their dishes lol bathrooms were grubby

This backpackers is for 18-35s, info which I later realised was buried pretty deep in the hostel description. I’m nowhere near that age group, so I did feel a bit like a fish out of water until I met some other older women at breakfast who also didn’t get the memo. Fortunately I only needed a bolt hole for the night; my quad room looked like a teenagers bedroom, sharing with 3 long-stay young men with their crap all over the place. I think they were all working so they were quiet, and my space was clean. A mattress upgrade was long overdue. My standards are not high, especially for a hostel (I’m ok with plastic covered foam like a hikers hut) but I felt like I was lying on a sheet draped over the springs and could feel every one. Another handle or somewhere to get a grip on the ladder to the top bunk would help. It would have been a challenge for anyone. Breakfast was basic (just some boxes of cereal, raw oats and sliced bread with spreads. Dairy milk only, not plant based margarine. It’s a ‘help yourself’ affair.

Rooms are very messy and a bit unclean but mostly because a lot of long term guest that don't really clean up after themselves and that leads to the cleaning being not great. Bathrooms are okay.

Very nice staff, central location, very good vibes in the hostel with a lot of common areas, well equipped kitchen, simple breakfast included. Super cute dog in the hostel. Free overnight parking on the street outside.

My room door opened onto the 'lounge' area - which was noisy with people hanging out and talking (on phones), etc. There was a shoe storage area outside my room too - which was also noisy all through the night.

I arrived late and Reception was happy to help me. My room was clean and comfy - great aircon - lights and powerpoints were handy. Having a vanity in the room was also great. Clean ladies showers. Biggish kitchen - well organised. I had toast and toppings for my breakfast. 🤩

Smell of all of the shoes lying around. Grateful for the air conditioning, however room was cool whilst aircon clicked in, but warm each time aircon clicked off/out.

The hostel was more of a permanent/ long term residence for most guest which had us short term guest feeling a bit out of place even though the others were friendly. It was chaotic on the floors and in the living room and felt like the guest were treating the whole space like its their home.

The location was good and the staff friendly. A really basic breakfast was included which was nice. The town is small with a beautiful beach, a few cafes and shops.

Not a negative but - most of the crowd is there for longer term stay. WHV holders or long term travellers. Less of the short visit crowd.

Good vibe & decent facilities - as expected from a hostel. Have a pretty big kitchen though.

The room was small making it feel a bit cramped. The wifi didn’t work in the rooms, only in the common areas.

We booked a private dorm and it was really clean. The kitchen was big and clean. The common areas were nice with a big TV. Good location. We were accidentally overcharged and this was fixed with no hassle :)
