How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Alen's home was amazing, it had everything anyone could need and the location is in the heart of old town. Alen himself was the perfect host and helped us in so many ways and going above and beyond in guiding us. Alen made us feel at home with his support and his genuine personality, we have a family at Sarajevo now :) <3

Alen was a gracious host who made sure that I had a wonderful stay. His apartment was fully equipped with all the necessities. Location is also perfect and just a short walk to the heart of the old town, supermarkets and bakeries. Highly recommended!

Spacious with everything I needed to be comfortable. Very secure and thoughtfully decorated. Alen is a great host and gave me amazing suggestions for food and things to do. I will definitely book here again! Only a 5 minute walk to the main attractions of the city!

Spacious apartment with a large and well equipped kitchen, located very close to main attractions. Adam made our stay really special, he’s a great and attentive host! Definitely want to go back to Sarajevo and Adam’s place again:)

The location is near to the center. The flat is very clean and cozy (has everything you need). Alen is the best host you could wish for, helpful and always available for your questions.

Alen is great host, he was very kind and communication was great. Clean house, you can find everthing you need and you have free parking spot close to city center. I would definetly stay there again if i visit Sarajevo

All good. Alen was a great host so nothing was an issue for long.
Alen was very helpful and met us helped us with parking and provided a lot of useful info. He made us feel welcome as if we were his home guests. Large apartment with separate bedroom, living room.and kitchens. Great washing and drying facilities. Very accessible to Old Town

Perfect place to stay in Sarajevo. The old center is just a 5 minutes walk away. Alen was very welcoming and helpful. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Met all expectations.

Hardest question to answer when you have nothing really to think of. Our stay and the apartment was excellent.
Excellent location. Free parking available upon request. Everything was within a walk away. No driving i necessary. Host was very welcoming.

The apartment is decorated beautifully, very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect for exploring the Old Town, museums and getting around Sarajevo easily. Alen is an exceptional host who goes out of his way to ensure you have an excellent stay offering great local knowledge of restaurants and attractions. I would recommend staying in Alens apartment for an authentic local experience.

I have two minor suggestions: - replace the knife and scissors in the kitchen. - add a small trash can in the bath/show room.
This apartment has everything you need except no air conditioner. Free parking on the street is safe.

Location is close to the Baščaršija tourist spot, the city is accessible on foot, as well cable car to the former bobsleigh track (Trebević hill). Alen is great and available for all information, the apartment is clean and well equipped. there are two balconies, a public parking lot by the road and a private one a few minutes away if desired.

Alen’s apartment feels as welcoming as you would stay with a good friend. Every room is carefully considered and decorated, even with unique Alen’s art work such as beautiful BW photos in the living room. We were 3 and I took the couch - not sorry at all as the extra comfy Dormeo topper was my ticket to a refreshing sleep I needed after a full day’s of exploring Sarajevo. Location, comfort, value - those are the 3 keywords I would use to describe the experience. 11/10 and 100% I will return to exact this flat on my next Sarajevo trip if I will be lucky enough to find it free. :)

Very close to Bascarsija, some 5-7 min by foot. Free parking which is not very common in this area. Host is very kind and attentive. And apartment itself was nice, cozy and very clean, located in a quite place. My sincere recommendation for Alen and his place.
