How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified review- very friendly and helpfull staff - location in the city center, in the near of the cathedral - very clean rooms - although the hotel was on a very busy street, you didn’t notice it in the hotel, and you could sleep at night without any noise - well equipped gym - we got an free upgrade for the suit, which was just perfect for our stay! A big room and bathroom and even a terrace which was great for our stay in august during the warm summer days!

Verified reviewThe room we were in was amazing - it was the size of a small apartment, with so much space and great views. We were so busy exploring the city we didn't end up using the pool, which is one of the reasons we chose this hotel, but don't regret it at all.
Due to the central location, noise was a big issue. The street outside was pedestrianised and full of bars, with a DJ booth -I think this was connected to the film festival? It was disruptive but not so bad on the Saturday night when we arrived: the music could be blocked out with ear buds and ended at a decent time. However, on the Monday night the music on the street below was *incredibly* loud, much louder than previous nights. Ear buds did nothing, as did covering our ears with pillows. It continued until at least 1.30-2am. This really disrupted our sleep, and had a negative impact on our stay.

Verified reviewHotel is not in "first youth", but location is very good - in a city centre, close to tram lines, buses, and 2 taxi stands. The main street is loud at night (night bars), but on the 2nd floor it was almost unnoticeable (A.C on, windows closed). Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet could be bigger and warmer. Hotel has nice pool with saunas and a very large gym. Opening hours could be more elastic.
Gym opening hours, especially on weekends (10-20). Swimming pool water was one day cold, the other day warm. Breakfast could be have more versality.

Verified reviewAttentive, Cheerful staff, full breakfast, great location, beautiful pool/sauna, very complete gym, and spa services. I had the 6th floor loft room “without windows” which had the bed upstairs and downstairs sitting area and bathroom with a large bathtub and tvs in the bedroom and the sitting room. Great value for the price point, and again every employee I spoke with was completely friendly and helpful which is such a plus.
I wish it had parking, but I had inquired at my booking and they informed me where to park which was simple, affordable and within a 3 minute walk of the hotel. (Which I specifically chose for its proximity to the old town area.)

Verified reviewThe staff are very friendly and accommodating even those in the Spa. The second day for breakfast wasn’t sufficient especially good because they refilled.
The first day of breakfast wasn’t sufficient especially for the children because the fries were too dry to be eaten and I asked for Nutella because the bowl was empty but I was directed to get the local one. There were hot foods which weren’t refilled even if there was still time for breakfast. Only 1 elevator is working and filled with mosquitoes the 2nd day.

Verified reviewThe Location was fantastic - heart of the city centre and walking distance to the old town - couldn't have been better. A clean and modern hotel with everything we needed. Highly recommended, if we do return (and we definitely plan to, God-willing), we would stay here again.. The Staff were amazing - Dajana, Arnes, Evan and Alma in particular. Dajana for example went above and beyond expectations and was very quick to help us and facilitate our requirements when they arose - she is an asset to the hotel and a big reason we would return as she looked after us all, which was a big support as we travelled with 2 young children. Highly recommended hotel.

Verified reviewThe location was ideal, right beside the cathedral and a few minutes away from the old town. There is also a taxi stand right in front of the hotel which is highly convenient. In addition, the staff was very kind and especially helpful regarding local recommendations. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the room exceeded my expectations in terms of size and comfort. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend Hotel Central to anyone looking to stay in Sarajevo!
