Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNo locks on shower or toilet doors. I saw other beds with broken slates & people sinking through them while asleep. There is NO kitchen, not even a kettle to boil water! There is a night club downstairs which is loud so bring your earplugs. Theres no power outlets or lamps next to beds, just a long extension cord that everyone has to use.
Location is great, walk straight out the door into the Old Town. All the tourist sites are within a walkable distance. Trams are close by for transport to bus & train station. Air-conditioning worked well as did the wifi. My bed was comfortable. I was there on a festival weekend so a lot of places were already booked out and my choices were low but I think you could find other hostels with better facilities at a way cheaper price. I did book last minute!

GermanyUnfortunately, there was one really noticeable issue during my entire stay that does not allow me to give this place a perfect mark. Namely, there was no Wi-Fi connection every day from early evening to the next morning. After around 19:00, the Wi-Fi network, although still active, was reducing the internet speed to such a degree that it was impossible to open even a web browser or the weather app. The connection would then be restored only at around 5:00 in the morning. I cannot be sure about the reasons, but I assume the hosts have a metered Wi-Fi connection, and by evening, guests use up all the data available for a single day. Before arriving, I had expected to heavily rely on the hotel's Wi-Fi, especially in the evenings, and its absence during that time became a huge disappointment for me. So, if you care about having a Wi-Fi connection while being in Sarajevo, this point is worth paying your attention. If the problem indeed lies in the metered nature of the hotel's Wi-Fi, it would be so great if the hosts could replace it with something better. On a completely different note, there were several problems with the bathroom on my floor (the last one), so I had to use the ones on lower floors. It was not a big deal for me personally - and the bathroom on the second floor was truly amazing - but I think this also deserves some attention. Still, despite these issues, as I said above, I definitely recommend this place since there were many more positive things about this hotel than negative ones.
This hotel is awesome for its price! One cannot compare it to other more expensive hotels, but it definitely exceeded all my expectations, considering it is one of the cheapest options in Sarajevo. The hosts are friendly, responsive, caring and helpful. They answered in detail my many questions I had before the arrival and subsequently helped me with my arrival. They allowed me to check in at around midnight since the only flight that I could take arrived in Sarajevo after 22:00. My room was quite small in size, but it had everything one needs for a short-term stay - so, I was more than happy with it. The best feature of the hotel is its amazing central location. It is located not just "close to the city centre"; it is literally in the city centre, and upon leaving the hotel's premises, you already find yourself on Sarajevo's main street. The old bazaar and all most important historical landmarks are within a 5-minute walk. There are also manyyyy great cafes with amazing Balkan food around the hotel, so you always have a wide selection of food. The bus stop to/from the airport is also right around the corner, which makes getting to and leaving this hotel even more convenient and easy. The hotel has bathrooms on each floor, so even if there are problems with the bathroom on your floor (this happened to me), you can easily use the ones on other floors. To sum up, I definitely recommend this place to everyone looking for good but affordable places in Sarajevo!

The staff was super friendly and the rooms in general were comfortable.

CanadaApart from the beds in the dorm, even couches (meant for people therein) were occupied by arriving new passengers. Not all beds have access to power sockets (I did not) and they have a major issue with working keys to the main door. I had to call one of the sisters from a place she was at to usher me into the hostel. Toilets on the dorm floor did not lock and the bathroom did not have shampoo or shower gel. These are expected at any given place of stay.
Proximity to the city centre. Friendly reception staff - Mona and Gina (sisters) were very nice and kind and responsive via WhatsApp.

SpainI had the worst experience at this property. Where do all the positive reviews come from!!! 🤯😱 Unfortunately, the room itself was the dirtiest I’ve ever stayed in. The floor was covered in dust and dirt, and I had to kill three spiders within the first 24 hours. Apart from the bed sheets, which seemed clean, the rest of the room felt neglected. While there were plenty of strong air fresheners, they couldn’t mask how unclean the space was. Also, there were so many strange people around the building that I felt very unsafe!!! To make matters worse, there’s a multiple bars downstairs they play loud music until midnight. It's crazy!! Even with wax earplugs, it was impossible to get any rest. The walls are paper-thin — I could hear everything happening in the adjacent rooms, including very private moments. No sleep at night and during the day, a total nightmare!!! Staying in a room located off the second hallway was especially problematic due to constant noise from other guests. I didn’t sleep at all during my two-night stay. The only positives were the reliable WiFi and the convenient location. Everything else, unfortunately, fell far below expectations.
Nothing, WiFi worked!

Czech RepublicThere's no window in the room. Old, uncomfortable beds, poor furniture. Super loud music during the night (there's bar in the same backyard as the hostel). Definitely not suitable for staying with kids (and even without them). Booking.com should consider removing this place off the list.
Location is great. Ladies at the desk were the nicest. Super helpful, understanding, kind, good english, the best. That was the only pros of our stay and I am sorry for them that I have to write this negative review. They did everything they possible could to help us.
