The best place we stayed during our 8 days in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The village is beautiful and the mountains look like something out of a movie. It feels so peaceful and relaxing, perfect for chilling out, but also for going hiking. The hosts are amazing people; they welcomed us with coffee, dinner was incredible (the best homemade burek we had), and breakfast was super tasty! The couple who runs the place only speaks Bosnian (the man knows a few phrases in English), but communication wasn’t a problem. They let us try a delicious local drink and showed us the crafts they make with wool and wood, we bought some lovely socks. We definitely want to come back.

A fantastic friendly and authentically Bosnian guest house. The hosts are incredibly kind and take great care to make you feel welcome, and equally great care in preparing wholesome and tasty traditional food. The view is also amazing.

The location is spectacular. The apartment was warm, clean and comfortable. But our lasting memories of Umoljani are of our host, Mustafa, and his kindness. Mustafa is an excellent host, took care of us and recommended local specialties on the menu. The food served in the restaurant is super yummy, we ate breakfasts and evening meals here. The views from Konak Umoljani are beautiful, and it's close to the start of wonderful hikes. 100% recommend this stay!

The property host was very welcoming and friendly. The property itself was lovely, cosy and homely. Our bedroom had as much space as is needed, with a spacious en suite bathroom. The breakfast room has spectacular views over the valley with traditional local mountain food options available both for breakfast and dinner, and other food options available locally. There are many options for walks and hikes straight from the door, of any length and which can be tailored for any ability. The range of different scenery within a short distance – from lush green valleys to rugged mountains – is amazing. There are only very limited public transport options in the region (ask the locals what they are!) but we did manage to reach the property without our own car. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay here, and the hospitality provided to us.

Very nice, peaceful, quiet and cozy place. It has a big yard to chill and to park your car. The hosts are very kind and attentive and their cooking is delicious. The room is very well equipped. Good place to hike to Lukomir from, and you can also see local shepherds and their sheep from the terrace. There is an asphalt road leading up to Umoljani, but when we were there, part of the road was under construction, however it was still reachable by normal car. Our best accommodation during our Bosnian trip. :)

Umoljani is a beautiful place. Mustafa and his family are exceptional hosts. We really enjoyed the beauty of silence, the peace of letting the gaze go far.

If you are looking to spend down time or hike anywhere near Umoljani you can not go further then Konak Umoljani. It is one of the most wholesome and beautiful places we've stayed. From here you can start a view of the hikes near by and enjoy some of the best home made food you will have. Will definitely be coming here again on our next trip to Bosnia!

Located right in the middle of the mountains, in a stunning scenery. We did the Lukomir and Krvavac hikes starting right from the doorstep. The host Mustafa is a wonderful friendly person. Saved us some efforts on the Krvavac hike as he showed us a "secret" path not shown on maps avoiding needless ups and downs at the beginning of the hike. There is a simple restaurant on site, so you can recover after a hike over some simple but delicious Bosnian food and a Sarajevsko beer or two. Our room was simple but impeccably clean. The bathroom was in the corridor but it was for our exclusive use (other rooms are ensuite). The place can be reached by an asphalt road, quite narrow but perfectly doable for small cars. There is good wifi connection even if mobile coverage in the area is patchy to non-existent.

Very friendly hosts! Incredible views, accommodation had everything we needed for an overnight stay! Perfect for the circular Lukomir walk 😊

Umoljani are picture perfect mountain village with plenty of things to see and do in the surrounding area for the outdoor loving people, and the history is also present. This family run homestay is the perfect place to stay in Umoljani. The hosts are a true example of Bosnian hospitality and they understand what travellers coming to such a remote place might want from their stay. The lodgings are modern with a rustic touch, warm, simple and comfortable and spotlessly clean. The food is above excellent - simple local dishes, made with local ingredients from the village and family garden. Do not miss the freshly baked homemade "pita" or a fabulous bean stew.

Beautiful old style house, nice clean room + bathroom. Has a nice garden and a great view of the village/the mountains! The food was delicious as well and the owners so friendly! Would definitely recommend and also come back myself. Perfect stay!
