We had a truly enjoyable stay at Pansion River in Sarajevo. The room was spacious, comfortable, and offered a beautiful view of the river, which was perfect for our family of five. The breakfast each morning provided a good selection and was a pleasant start to the day. The hospitality at this hotel is exceptional. Meliha, the owner, was warm and welcoming, and it is clear that this is a well-run family establishment where guests are genuinely cared for. The on-site restaurant was also excellent — the quality of the food was very good, and the prices were surprisingly competitive for a hotel restaurant. A special thanks to Damir, whose outstanding service made our stay even more memorable. He went above and beyond to accommodate every request, always attentive and helpful. The location is another strong point — just a few minutes’ walk to the tram station, the bazaar, local attractions, and a nearby mosque. Overall, our family thoroughly enjoyed our time at Pansion River and we would not hesitate to return. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Sarajevo.

Amazing location as walking distance to all the main attractions. Good restaurants and coffee shops around also. Lovely hosts, Damir especially went out of his way to arrange a private taxi to mostar for us. Our apartment was spacious with a balcony and fab view.

    Liked everything!

The location is amazing, it's just outside of Old Town so that you could leave the hustle and bustle and come to a calmer bend of the river. The view was stunning from our room and it was so nice to sit on our own little terrace in the night. The personnel was really the highlight of our stay, they were so helpful and kind. We felt welcomed and taken care of. The bed was comfortable and the driver to airport was kind.

There were some cobwebs in our room that could have been dusted away before our stay but that is about it.

Loved the balcony onto the river from the room. The restaurant also had beautiful setting and decor along with really friendly and helpful.

The rainshower did not work and wasn't even piped in even though it was fitted to the wall. Too many spiders and spiderwebs

    Property response:

Thank you for your feedback. Regarding the shower — you requested to switch rooms to be closer to your family. The room you moved into does not have a functioning rain shower, and this is intentional. We have disabled it because many guests are unfamiliar with its operation, which often leads to malfunctions. Therefore, the room is equipped with a standard shower only. As for the presence of spiders — this is quite common and natural in our environment. We are a guesthouse located above the river, and spider webs tend to appear frequently. Although we remove them regularly, they can reappear quickly due to the surroundings. Kind regards, Pansion River

Great location on the river and close to old town and interesting features in the rooms (we loved the tree in the room and mezzanine space for kids rooms and visits from friendly cats).

Very strong smell in bathrooms from septic tank. Some unexpected costs and taxes on bill.

    Property response:

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. Please note that there could not have been any unexpected costs related to your room. The total reservation price is fixed at the time of booking, with tourist taxes clearly indicated and automatically added — as stated in your booking confirmation. Regarding the smell in the bathroom, we apologize for any inconvenience. Occasionally, due to high temperatures and the proximity to the river, such odors may occur, but they typically dissipate quickly. Kind regards,
