We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaCon of top floor you have to walk up. At first there was an issue with our booking we asked for two single beds in the second room. Instead, we got a room with one double. It took a day, but they fixed the issue by opening the third bedroom. I suggest they add a salad spinner, a few extra dish towels, and extra blankets. Also, a small cooler to keep drinks or water cold for day trips would be a nice touch. The pool is lovely but shallow.
Unit #45, 3 Bed, top floor. Our apartment was very spacious with a wonderful huge wrap around balcony with seating and a dining table. The ac worked very well, as did the internet. Good showers and water pressure.

United Kingdomalthough location is very good, it still requires a car, we tried to go to beaches by walking but there are literally no space to walk for pedestrians and both cars and buses are moving really fast. it’s definitely not a fault of the property but rather Barbados government should invest more into roads and making them a bit more walkable..
great location in the nice area, very good positioning of our appartment right next to the swimming pool. we loved our appartment and all its facilities, kitchen very well equipped, working AC, good water pressure in the shower, comfortable beds and soft bed linen. Both reception and housekeeping staff were very responsive and helpful, the housekeeping manager was checking on us daily, everything was clean and well maintained! big thanks to all the personnel for excellent work!

United StatesIt’s was slighted dated, the balcony seem to be newly renovated and decorated and was beautiful but overall the inside apartment was just very average. There was a note that said “machines not for rental use or incur a fee” I wasn’t sure if that was meant for the appliances but I didn’t see any other machines they could be talking about. I never needed to use them but I definitely was hesitant to and the one time I thought about using the microwave it was late at night so I couldn’t call to ask. You can definitely hear through these walls.
The price. Compared to other properties nearby, it was cheaper and probably had more space that the average hotel room for a similar or higher price. I loved the balcony with the accordion door that could open up the entire length of the wall. The security measures for this entire complex made me feel safe.

IsraelI didn't like that we didn't get a personal reception with the ability to go over particular things that are unique to the property. For example, the door to the patio closed in a particular way which is not intuitive. We could have had the host explain to us how it works instead of struggling with it for a while, then having to call up the host for an explanation. There were several other items like this which, fortunately for me, I figured out on my own. Perhaps a visual guide would help? Another issue that arose was that a door was broken and couldn't be unlocked. To fix this took more than a day and involved people entering the property while we were away, which was not properly coordinated with us. it also meant that we had to spend valuable time waiting for the service providers to fix the lock. Valuable time that we could have spent on holiday. Not a deal-beaker, but not ideal either. I understand that COVID policies have changed the way guests are received but the solutions have to adequately compensate for the lack of in-person contact with the hosts.
I liked the size and comfort of the space and the modern kitchen equipment. I also like the staff and their attention to us and our needs. I really grew to value the night security guard. Andy was a delight and very helpful throughout our stay when returning late at night or tired after dinner, he'd have the gate open for us before we even thought of touching the security code pad. In that vein, the host's team was very helpful and attentive throughout our short stay and it was easy and pleasant to communicate with them and get their recommendations on various things to do on the island or to find various services we needed at any moment. Very good host team. The pool was in a great location and was just the right size and complexity to allow for all the family to feel comfortable and to enjoy: a low pool for the 5-year-old and a deeper pool for the adults and older kids.

United KingdomDEFINITELY didn't like request for credit card details, including three digit CVV number on paper checking in form so didn't provide it. Trusted Simone but unacceptable practice as card details already known. Arriving at Lantana late afternoon iPhone now fully connected, I received notifications sent mid-flight stating I could not access apartment. I also had missed calls I tried unsuccessfully to return so confirmed on Booking.com app and email contacts provided, payment they were taking now cleared after fraud checks, again without response. Having received lock box instructions before I left UK, I decided to use them but couldn’t open it. Frustrated and tired, Andy on security saw us and thankfully intervened. He contacted someone at Island Villas but they were unable to contact the Barbados staff who had finished for the day. Andy and I returned to the apartment on their advice but just couldn’t open the lock box. Options being weighed we angrily awaited an update from any source. None received we returned for a third time with determination. Numerous attempts with process followed correctly, using phone lights to enter numbers accurately and tugging, failed. After prayer (honestly!) and ok little brute force, the key was eventually retrieved and finally a couple of hours after arrival we were in. The sheer delight when we viewed the apartment tempered the outrage but not disbelief, we (including Andy) had not heard anything further from anyone. I sincerely hope this is rectified with out of office hours staff availability by phone and lock box change or a digital access control keypad. Positive outcome for us was meeting observant, diligent and extremely helpful Andy! Correct Wi-Fi details would have eased logging on concerns. Patio fan switch location details would also have been good and the ability for it to stay on longer before turning on required again.
Lantana Apt 22 an unexpected gem, with daily visit from Simone the cake icing. So friendly and warm making sure we had everything needed whilst offering great suggestions of places to visit. Simone interacted graciously with guests and service personnel alike, brightening the day. Beautifully furnished, tastefully decorated, welcoming, homely, ground floor apartment. Everything was quality! Beds, linen/towels to fully equipped kitchen, crockery/utensils/air-fryer to patio furniture. Good sized bedrooms with remote control air-conditioning, fans and of all things dimmable lighting, contributing to good nights’ sleep! One disappointment, there wasn’t two single beds in a bedroom as expected and key to booking for three sisters. Comfortable settee in spacious lounge served as substitute bed when needed Squeaky clean inviting bathrooms a pleasure to use with nice toiletries, if required. Large relaxing patio in front of pool with a sizeable round glass table, great for meals and games. Comfortable seating area with a restricted sea view. Perfect location for everywhere, everything, peace and quiet, despite the school next door. It was actually nice hearing children coming and going. Walking distance to several beaches, including the vibrant Thunder Bay that had a reasonable combined drink/sunbed deal with good tasty food on sale and nice restaurants in the vicinity. Bus stop outside Lantana was very convenient with constant stream of buses. We used the bus but had a car for convenience and free parking was available. We were blessed with lovely neighbours and met resort apartment owners who were sociable. A somewhat rowdy at times group (probably better suited to Saint Lawrence Gap) were kept in check by reassuring security and owners so overall no real disturbances when we were there. I really hope Island Villas maintain the apartment standard and quality. Guests look after and respect it as we would stay again in a heartbeat!

United StatesWe did not like that we did not receive what was advertised on Booking.com and what we paid for when we booked this accommodation. Reservation from Jan 20 to February 3. We arrived at 4.30 on January 20th. On arrival we were assigning to UNIT 11 and noticed there was a high-pitched hissing sound like that of a security alarm. This turned out to be the bathroom toilet, which we reported, and which was fixed the next day by the plumber. Later the second day we discovered a terrible odor coming from the bathroom periodically and unrelated to use of the bathroom. Discovered in my investigations that the extractor fan did not work but just hummed loudly. The odor came from the drainpipe in the bathroom sink. I fixed this with three treatments of dish soap and vinegar and hot water. The slip and fall risk in the bathroom created a twice daily hazard. Bathtub is 3.5 to four feet from the bathroom floor. There are no handrails, no nonslip mat or any facilities in the bathroom to mitigate the huge risk of slipping in the bathtub while taking a shower or slipping and falling while stepping into the slippy tub or stepping out. The living room and bedroom lack any of the decor seen on the Bookings.com booking site. Bedroom like a hospital room. Water heater in closet that is 3 feet away from bed head. Noisy and difficult to sleep. Living room furniture covered with brown sofa protector. Just downright awful. Kitchen - dishwasher did not work and had to be repaired while we were there. Repairs then triggered electrical event that turned off the electricity to toaster, kettle and microwave. The oven did not work for the entire stay. Repair man showed up and advised it needed a part which was not available. It seems that at this point the management then decided to move us to Unit 22 after 10 days of absolute horrors. We then had to pack and lug our belongs over to Unit 22 for the remainder of our stay. Unit 11 is a disgusting facility that should not be rented.
We eventually liked Unit 22 where we were moved after everything in Unit 11 failed to work or to meet reasonable expectations. We liked the Housekeeper and housekeeping staff who tried to do their very best arrange to have the various maintenance and lack of facilities advertised provided. Gateman was also very nice
