Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesAll. This is your must bed & breakfast in Bruges. You will miss out if you do not stay here. Andrei is a fabulous, kind, and just fantastic host. He goes way above expectations. Location is absolutely great, just a few steps from Rosary Quay. Accommodation is amazing, with so many details to make your stay memorable. And the breakfast, I can continue writing for long, it was one of the best breakfasts ever we have had in Europe. Believe me, your stay in Bruges will be much more memorable if you stay with Andrei. We will be back for sure.

Norway't Hartje van Brugge is an exceptional place, that we happened to book a bit randomly. We considered ourselves extremely lucky. It is so different from other hotels. Fantastically nice and comfortable room, very good bed, great bathroom with bath and shower (I always appreciate to have both) and very centrally located. Andrei is an incredibly nice host that really tries his best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. And the breakfast was just incredible. I highly recommend the place, and should we visit Brugge again, there is no doubt in my mind that we would book here again, if possible. Only thing you need to consider is that there are two staircases to the second floor and no elevator. No problem for us (and Andrei carried our few bags anyway), but if you have a problem with that, try to make sure you get the room on the ground floor. Thanks Andrei, we loved our stay at the hotel / B&B.

An amazing host, amazing decor, stunning breakfast. Every so often you come across a place that gives you so much more than what you expected, and you come away really happy with your booking. They are rare, but this is one of those places. A great location, everything in walking distance and great value for money. You won't be disappointed booking here.

United KingdomFrom the moment we were met at the door, until the moment we set off on our journey home, Andrei was the most perfect host. The guesthouse exceeded all our expectations - which were high anyway due to the images on the website and previous reviews. The location is ideal being just one road away from the hustle and bustle of the town, with a canal boat tour stop and restaurants within a stagger (after several Belgian beers) of the guesthouse. The breakfast in the morning was just A-MAZ-ING both in content and presentation - a magnificent start to any city break day. We highly recommend 't Hartje van Brugge and will definitely try and stay there when we next visit Brugge.

United KingdomAndrei was the perfect host, and nothing was too much trouble, a truly wonderful host. The attention to detail throughout the whole property was exceptional. We were greeted with a reception of prosecco and freshly sliced salami, which was a lovely unexpected touch. The breakfast was great with a good selection of fresh bread and pastries, cereals fruits, meats, and freshly cooked scrambled eggs and bacon. You even get to slice your own cured meats. 🙂 If you want to stay somewhere a bit different than everywhere else, you must stay here when in Brugge.

United StatesMy only regret is I wish I would’ve stayed here longer
This is by far the best and most luxurious place I have ever stayed in, right in the heart of Bruges. Andrei was such a thoughtful host with impeccable style, which you can see in the decor of the rooms and the bar. We stayed in the bottom guest house that had a large living room, bedroom and small outdoor space. I felt like i was staying in a palace with the artwork and chandeliers in the room. Everything was so thoughtful - from the custom robes, slippers, chocolates, and luxurious bath products. As soon as we checked in, Andrei greeted us with champagne and charcuterie. Breakfast was also absolutely amazing, from the spread Andrei laid out to the eggs he made us and freshly cut prosciutto. I’ll keep coming back to Bruges just to stay here!

AustraliaNothing whatsoever.
Wow, what a superb place to stay in this gorgeous historic city. Our room was plush, super comfortable and beautifully decorated (as is the entire house). The furnishings, toiletries, little extras and finishing touches were of the highest quality - we felt like millionaires staying here. The breakfasts were amazing - so much variety and choice - exotic and delicious tidbits as well as eggs and bacon (if you have room for it). Andrei was a wonderful host, with lots of local knowledge he happily shared with us - thank you Andrei (my husband is still raving about your anchovy stuffed olives, by the way!). Not only was the accomodation truly outstanding, but the location was fantastic - a quiet side street off one of the most picturesque streets in Bruges and only 5 minutes walk to the Town Square. There are lots of choices for eating within just a few minutes walk from the door. We cannot recommend 't Hartje van Brugge highly enough - Fabulous.

Everything was perfect! Andrei went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and very well looked after. The property is gorgeous and has everything we needed. It was close enough to the action without be noisy and bothersome. Brugge is a delight and so was ‘t Hartje van Brugge. Truely the heart of Bruge! The offers of Prosecco were also very welcomed ;-)

United KingdomWe loved everything. Unfortunately, we had to leave 2 nights early due to a family emergency and we were so disappointed as we were enjoying our stay so much. but we hope to be back. Andrei was very kind and offered for us to transfer our room to anyone else we knew who might be able to use it, but it was too difficult for that.
Location was ideal, very close to main square, useful space outside to park for unloading luggage and great secure parking facilities. Delicious ample and varied breakfast choices, unique quirky boutique rooms which are beautifully decorated. Great room temperature control and lovely sauna. Andrei is gorgeous, fabulously stylish and a perfect host.

CanadaThis was a small thing for us but might be hard for some people is there is a lot of stairs to the top level with our suitcases. Our host helped which was very nice of him. We didn’t mind it except for the luggage. 😀
Very comfy! Loved all the details. The host was amazing. The breakfast (included) was amazing! The room was large as was the bathroom. We had all the amenities including a fully stocked in room bar ($). The price was well worth it. Felt like we got a deal.
