Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaFemales would like a lock on their door to feel more secure and I think the owner is attending to that. A few minor issues with bathroom toiletries, water containers and it would be good to have a proper top sheet instead of a rug…… etc but overall a really interesting place I would stay in again . Bring earplugs and you’ll be fine.
Location was great, interesting area close to a fish vendor so I was happy! Pub under the accomm so that was handy on Friday night. Really loved the old building and what they’d done with it do far; I’m an art lover so I appreciated all the nuances. I’m a history lover so seeing the interior of such an old building was also brilliant. Loved the cat being around. Don’t stay here if you have a big suitcase or don’t like challenging stairs - you’ll really struggle with the narrow winding staircase but I felt it was all part of the charm.

BelgiumI can’t say I really disliked anything, but just a heads-up: like most old historical buildings, the narrow wooden stairs can be a bit challenging. They have their charm, but it’s something to be aware of.
Loved the property! The historic building exudes charm, with antique furniture and an eclectic, art-filled interior. It has a unique spirit, blending old-world elegance with vibrant, unexpected decor. A true gem!

BelgiumI missed a bin, nowhere to be found one in the whole appartment 🤔🤔. Also some spoons for the coffe would have been useful. And perhaps somewhere a note with the wifi code. We did get it , but would be just easier.🙃
Very original, Nice touches. Liked the space. For our purpose perfectly located

SlovakiaIf I were to nitpick, I missed having a duvet, as well as a trash can on the top floor and in the bathroom for convenience. Additionally, a lock on the bedroom door would have been appreciated—not due to any lack of respect from the host, who is considerate and gives you plenty of privacy, but simply for my own peace of mind.
The space is a beautiful historical building with exposed wooden beams, comfortable lounging areas, unique artwork, and carefully curated furnishings. Malcolm, the friendly resident cat, adds charm to the experience. The private bathroom is a convenient touch, and the location in the city center offers an interesting view and easy access to attractions. The bed is comfortable with quality pillows, and the entire house is spotless, making it a truly enjoyable stay.

New ZealandThe bed is not suitable for two people - it is a king single. The bedding was not normal sheets, it was dark blankets, so you couldn’t tell if it was clean or not. There were hairs on the floor and in the bathroom that weren’t ours (long dark hairs). There is NO privacy - the ?owner lives in the downstairs (this was not advertised in the listing) which is completely open to the upstairs which is the guest area. The bedroom and bathroom doors have massive gaps. We found a rolled marijuana joint under the bed. The listing says ‘shared kitchen’ but when we asked if we could put something in the fridge he was hesitant and said that wasn’t part of the facilities available, but we insisted

United StatesNot so much what I didn’t like but be aware this is a hostel shared flat type situation. It was perfect for me, but there is no door locks on the bedrooms and there is a shared bathroom. I’m sure your stay can vary depending on who else is there. If you book all the rooms with friends, you’ll have a near perfect time.
Had a great stay! The host was phenomenally friendly and I had no issues. It could not have been in a more perfect spot for the festival I was at. The price was more than reasonable and it was an adorable flat. I had no issues with the other guests who were also friendly. The flat is huge, well decorated, and really makes you feel like a part of Antwerp. It was quiet, a great place to decompress, have a drink, and relax. I would absolutely come back! Special shoutout to the cat.
