Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDifficult to find the property. Perhaps a mention that it is behind the little railway station would help.
Breakfast very good and ladies who served us were really nice and attentive. Freshly boiled egg was a lovely touch. The view across the field is lovely and an easy walk into the town centre.

United KingdomThe apartment would have benefited from a couple of chairs indoors too and more " putting down" surfaces in the bathroom. Some of the outdoor furniture needs repairing or replacing.
A quiet location with private space to sit outside. The room was very clean with well supplied bathroom. There is a breakfast room which can be used to make a drink in the evening and sit indoors or outdoors in a communal area. The breakfast was excellent with very fresh food.

United KingdomThere was only one pillow on each bed and we normally prefer two, however, I'm sure another would have been provided if we had asked. There was a very slight lingering smell of smoke as I think the property allows smokers but it didn't disrupt our stay.
We really enjoyed staying here the location was easy to find and well-signposted with convenient parking. We picked the location as it was close to Plopsaland. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Our host was very welcoming and showed us the breakfast room with tea and coffee facilities including a bean-to-cup machine. The views out over the fields are very peaceful and the rooms all have a lovely patio area. The shower was excellent with plenty of hot water and good pressure. The beds were comfortable but were 2 single beds attached together. There was some information in our room about how to get to the local town so we went for a lovely meal in the evening at "In den Koninck" which was a hidden gem. The breakfast the next day was excellent with a good selection of cold items, bread, meats, Cheese, fruits as well as a soft-boiled egg. Overall it was an excellent stay and we can highly recommend it.

IrelandIf you, like me, are asthmatic, it might be useful to note that this is a smoking household and there was a slight smell of cigarette smoke on towels as well as a strong smell of smoke in the breakfast room. I would much prefer the advertised tea/coffee making facility to be in the room itself. My pillows were very floppy and gave no support at all. The rooms would much benefit from soundproofing of joint walls!
I needed one night’s accommodation for myself and my dog on the way to the Eurotunnel at Calais. The Ateljee’s location is great: 10 minutes’ drive from the E40 motorway; a 3 minute drive or 20 minute walk from Veurne’s historic town centre; a 10 minute drive to the amazing beaches at De Panne and Koksijde. The B&B is located off the main road from Veurne to the seaside and accessed through Koksijde train station’s Park+Ride car park, which makes it ideal if you’re travelling by bicycle or train. Free private car parking is available. The three guest rooms are at the rear of the property, serenely overlooking farmland. Each room boats its own small patio with a bistro set of table and two chairs. Additional outdoor seating is available outside the adjacent breakfast room. My double room was small and simple but clean, warm and comfortable. It was bright and airy, its high, vaulted ceiling and fully glazed front preventing it from feeling claustrophobic. The en-suite shower room, by comparison, was a really decent size. Bed and black-out curtains were great; the en-suite was thoughtfully equipped including cotton buds and make up pads. Contrary to the listing, there was no tea/coffee making facility in the room but access to one in the breakfast room. Because all rooms are directly accessed from the outside (i.e. not linked by a corridor), this may not be ideal on a wet day. Guests also have access to a small fridge in the breakfast room, to keep their own items chilled and to purchase cold drinks (water, Coke, beer). Host Ann was very friendly and serves a very nice Continental breakfast with a good choice of cold cuts and cheeses, pastries and bread rolls, muesli, yogurt and fresh strawberries. I loved that the B&B has a No Children policy but is very welcoming towards dogs and, indeed, its location is ideal for dog owners as tree-lined walks are just around the corner, ideal for early morning and late-night walkies.
