I had the bedroom directly above reception, the main entrance door banged everytime it closed and when people were smoking outside the front of the hotel it could be smelled in the room

Very busy road at peak times - on a corner where one could not see what was coming when try to cross the road to the car park. A couple of mirrors opposite would have helped this. Would have preferred to be in the same building as the restaurant, instead of having to go outside in the rain to reach our room.

Restaurant was excellent - very high quality food, including breakfast. Lovely location by the river, although we could not see this from our room Mostly very helpful staff, including finding a place for us to store extra luggage overnight.

Unfortuntaly the door was not soundproof, therefore you can clearly hear any sound coming from the Hall or other rooms. Wifi unfortunately was most of the time not working. No Gym.

Room was in a separate building and access was up very steep stairs. The bedroom was large but with very austere decor. It was not a comfortable space.

Excellent stay all round; only downside was locating the hotel as due to road works ( which presumably has been going on for 2 years) there being contractors vehicles blocking access up the road but luckily we were fortunate to have 2 very kind “locals” who came in our car with us and showed us a roundabout way which we never would have found on our own.

Surprising lack of places to sit in the evening. Apart from the restaurant, there was only a small bar area. There are a lot of large, empty function rooms inside the hotel but looks like they are only used for events (no furniture). The room was small and did not have a seating area. WiFi in the hotel lobby was good but did not extend to the room (across the road from the main building). Room was quite short on power sockets. I had to unplug the lamp to plug in my charger. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant. The quality and preparation of the food was good, but table service was not the best. Our drinks order was forgotten. After some time we asked about it, our waiter said he had just been to the bar and it was coming. After another long wait we asked again (a different waiter this time) and he told us that no order had been placed. We re-ordered. The second waiter took responsibility and brought the drinks to us personally.

Convenient location for day trip to Gent (by car to nearby P+R). Room was comfortable, nicely decorated and with large and comfortable bed. We slept well. Breakfast on the terrace was very pleasant.

The location is wonderful, water side and in a quiet area that makes you feel like you’re off the beaten track. Even though it’s not too far from the local town. The rooms are air conditioned and spacious and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is also amazing, and the pop up bar and outside dining area are superb, with a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

Most staff worked really hard but were under-resourced and lacking in coordination. Generall, food was excellent but value for money it is not. 30 Euros per person for breakfast is extortionate.

Ideal place to stop off for a night enroute. Difficult to reach because of roadworks on approach to hotel. An email advising the route was closed would have been helpful. The dinner was good as was breakfast.

Almost nothing! The hotel is geared towards corporate or family (weddings) etc events. That said, the hotel was quiet when we were there and we were looked after very well indeed

Excellent rooms Fine kitchen with excellent wine. Very good breakfast Good value A bill glitch was sorted our by immediate repayment of an erroneous overcharge.

If you have the window open for fresh air it lets the rain in.

Our second visit here for an overnight stop on a long journey and again much enjoyed. Convenient for the motorway. The room, if a bit small for 2 people, had everything you need and the bed was very comfortable. A pleasant view from a Juliet balcony over the hotel roofs to fields beyond and a glimpse of the river. Excellent restaurant food at dinner, a highlight. Standard European breakfast.

The hotel is in a nice location on the river Leie/ Lis. The food in the restaurant is nice and breakfast was extensive. The staff was friendly.
