How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewBeautiful location, good connection to Wijnegem Shopping Center and Sportpaleis
Sauna was described to be included in the room price however upon arrival we were told we would have had to reserve and pay extra. This was a shame as we selected the hotel specifically for the sauna. Amenities are basic, but okay however there was no body soap in the shower. Shampoo and body lotion were available. It was not easy to find the location of the reception or staff for checking in. The tourist tax was supposed to be €5,94 but was rounded up to €6 when paying by card which was a little bit strange.

Verified reviewDiscreet location at the eastern edge of Antwerp, quiet yet very reachable from all directions Own parking in front of the building. Pleasant owners living next door. Nice breakfast in cute stylish room.
Room fridge didn't work. Notified owners. Not a criticism but guests staying in duplex suite (such as mine, Orchidée) who need urgent nightly access to bathroom: the bedroom is steep stairs up from that facility

Verified reviewLocation was good. I liked that there was a water cooker
It looked a bit shabby: the radiator in the bathroom was rusty, there was mould between the tiles, the carpet on the stairs was hanging loose, there were no blinds, nor curtains for the window.

Verified reviewGreat location, quiet and comfortable.
We stayed before and it was much more up to date then. Not enough equipment, we only had 1 teaspoon, no breakfast bowl, no tea towels or washing up cloths, no clean towels during our stay, no emptying bins nor cleaning and only 2 small toilet rolls. Also the shower curtain was the same as 4 years ago and was mucky at the bottom. It’s a great property but it definitely can do with a bit of TLC.

Verified reviewThe lady who “runs” the property was extremely welcoming (we spoke French, my mother tongue). She showed me around and explained to me how to reach the city center. I booked here especially because of the quiet, green area. It’s very peaceful, had a lovely view on a cloister like garden. Suite itself is exactly as advertised: big, comfortable, coffee machine, fridge, kettle…. Being a bit outside city center has its perks!
Nothing. I noticed something like an a/c unit upstairs but am not sure if one one. If not, if must be hot summer.

Verified reviewThe building looks majestic.
The interior was not our taste. There is a lovely shower, but it's so high that the water comes into the room and the floor is damaged.

Verified reviewlooked nice on pictures but a dump in reality.
a dump. we arrived at 7pm and no reception and the room was not cleaned up at all since last stay. they charged us 2.50€ tourist tax, gave them a fiver. the lady didn’t have change but told us she would put in in the room. never seen change. the gardens were dirty and the grass was uncut.
Dear Mr. Maurice Leclef, this is my response to your unfriendly review. You stayed overnight and complained that the grass hadn't been cut. In May we mow the grass less often to let the herbs grow, this is a recommendation from the local government. You complain about 5 euros tourist tax. The tourist tax is 2.97 euros per night and per person, so it became 5.94 euros. You still owe us 0.94 euros. So we are very dissatisfied with your review. It tastes like sour chocolates - you get this - I assume?

Verified reviewVery spacious room Bathroom is also very comfortable
As soon you pull out the key card behind the door the lights will shut off immediately... A delay would be a better option... Bed is big but the seem in the middle is annoying... Also there is a built-in TV in the bed... It was half way out... Not working. Because I needed to leave for a meeting I left before the breakfast.... There is a coffee maker and kettle.. Only problem is that there is only 1outlet that is in use for the fridge so you had to pull the fridge from the wall to unplug it and than plug in the coffee maker... The desk was also loose so be careful to not cut your self
