Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgAir conditioning not really working and filter full of dust and dirt. Rooms could be cleaner. With just a bit more attention to room/facilities quality this can be a great stay!
Excellent host/staff and good location very close to the city center! A nice stay in an old hotel! Would definitely return when going to Bruges.

United KingdomThe room could maybe do with a bit of an update and was a little smaller than I had imagined, but fine.
Stephen was really helpful as we arrived late as there was a traffic accident, so we were really grateful he waited for us to arrive. The breakfast was simple but very good.

United Kingdomit would have been nice to know there was a deadline to check in, we made it just but was not aware of this... but really not a negative, just a nice to have known,,,
Quaint hotel on the edge of the main market area, a stones throw from canals and eateries, a hop skip and jump from just about everything you'd want to see or do .... They even called us to check when we would be checking into the hotel as we were arriving late... so make sure you warn them if you are running late...

United KingdomThe room was small and a little run down. The fixtures could be modernised inside the room and bathroom.
The beds were soft and very comfortable. Room was clean and the beds were made for us each day. The shower had good water pressure. The area was quiet and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThe bathroom was a little dated and could do with a refresh but everything worked fine. A cooked breakfast would have been nice. The continental breakfast was good but a little pricey but having said that, I'm not sure what you would have got for the same price outside of the hotel.
Excellent location, large very comfortable bed and very friendly, informative owner. Also good to have tea and coffee facilities and a fridge in the room which you don't usually get in Europe.

CanadaThe hotel owners are friendly and helpful, they set out on a map for me the layout of the city and recommended sights to see and places to eat. The hotel itself is a quick walk away from downtown, but in an area that is quite quiet. The hotel has a relaxed feel to it and puts you at ease after travelling. The room was comfortable, clean, and exactly what I was looking for in my travels. The on-site breakfast is tasty.

SingaporeThe room is small and barely enough space to walk around the bed when the suitcases are open. There is no air-conditioning so the window has to be left slightly ajar with mosquitoes coming in at night. The plaza in front of the hotel can be noisy with tour groups and students from the neighbouring institutions talking. The toiletries are small tubes that are not sufficient.
Hotel Bryghia is located at Oosterlingenplein 4, Historic Centre of Brugge, Bruges 8000 and is only about 5 mins walk to Jan van Eyckplein and the rest of historic Bruges. It is a hotel located within a historic building though with modern conveniences of a lift and other facilities. The reception has staff during throughout, though the main door needs a code to enter in the late hours. The hotel manager is warm and friendly, and a welcome gift of Leonidas chocolates. The room and bathroom are clean with kettle only. The bed is comfortable. The towels are changed frequently.

United KingdomBathroom needed repointing and as mild weather duvet meant a little hot. However neither would stop us returning.
Great location , very quiet only 7 mins from the main square but take a bus from the train station as 40 min walk on cobbles not fun. Towels in shape of swans and chocs made nice arrival. Host gave map and explained main sights and very helpful. Room was quiet , bed comfy and shower hot though room was dated and shower was over bath which may not be ideal for all. We do not like large breakfast so got a pastry down the road but breakfast £13 is available.

NetherlandsNot for all business travellers - I see no facilities for business trip. And local government makes parking in the center hell - you'd better park at train station - fee there is really low.
Really tourist-friendly hotel: friendly personal, not big but clean and quite rooms, god quality bed, free wifi, decent breakfast All minimally needed things are available in the bathroom. Honest 3* with some local style and a really great location for the tourist with one-night stay.

CanadaA beautiful hotel located in a historical building, and I believe is family run as well. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and gave nice introduction to the city when we first checked in. We also appreciated that it was in a quieter part of the town, but still a quick 10 minute walk away from the main sightseeing areas.
