    Location

There was a lot of dust in the apartment, clearly it hadn’t been properly cleaned for a long time. When I turned on the bathroom mirror light, dust fell everywhere and I had to clean it myself. It is unacceptable to arrive and find the room in such conditions: the very minimum should be to ensure cleanliness

Location was great. However it’s a small place so no need to be right in the centre. Good to have a microwave and mini fridge as well as crockery and utensils.

The bed wasn’t for me very hard. The bed was pushed right pushed right up to the light switch so if you adjusted cushions up to the headboard in the night the main lights would come on. The soundproofing is very very poor as per other reviews. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re a light sleeper! I thought people were overreacting but no! Things were provided to clean dishes etc. but had to wash in the bathroom sink where the tap was right up against the porcelain. Also nowhere to let them dry or keep the sponge other than the wood side board. I think a few small changes would make it much better. Shower was tricky to get correct temperature due to the tap being broken. Some things weren’t cleaned or changed. Small bed in the room had dirty bedding (main bed was fine). The coffee etc. went out of date last year so not changed in some time! One of the tea towels left was dirty and dusty again not aired out or changed.

Good sized apartment in a great location. Generally well appointed. Apartment stayed relatively cool during record heatwave. Easy checking in and out.

Needs some maintenance in the bathroom (wear and tear means shower and toilet are usable but will need addressing). There was no top sheet provided for the single bed (there was a light fleece blanket but this was unsuitable for the temperature) and the single floor standing fan was insufficient for the size of the apartment.

Lovely room with tall ceilings, good facilities and comfortable bed. Great location and wasn't too noisy considering the position near to ground floor level.

A couple of lights didn't work, but coped with others although they could do with being a bit brighter. Raised area for bed/bathroom not ideal. Some floor areas were very creaky!

We liked everything about the apartment. The quirkiness, the location, and the facilities. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Bruges, and certainly, the apartment added to it. The weather was great, the shower was great and the super king size bed was even better. We loved our stay at The Cornerhouse.

Nothing, oh maybe the bathroom could have some form of extractor.

Location (so easy to use as a base to drop any shopping off, take a bit of time out from the bustle of tourists). Cleanliness. Facilities. Checkin and out procedure. Comfy bed. Attention to detail inc glasses, plates, good coffee machine, hanging space. Size of apartment (2 beds). Proximity of secure bike parking visible from apartment.

The hosts were so warm, friendly, and helpful. They were thorough with helpful information, quick to respond, and made the process so easy. Bruges is nicely walkable, and the location was very suitable. Be aware that big/heavy bags are a challenge, as the (short) walk from the bus stop is across cobblestones and the stairs to the room are very steep, narrow, and spiral. The room was super spacious, with gorgeous natural light and large windows that made it feel warm and breezy. The double glazing was effective at cutting out noise, making for a peaceful space. It also felt nicely private. They had a DVD of In Bruges on the TV unit, which brought us such delight. A really cute touch! Unfortunately the DVD player was hooked up to a tiny old TV behind the newer, proper smart TV, with old RCA connections so we weren't able to watch it, but we were able to use the smart TV to stream the film. It was a very fun thing to do while in Bruges! The shower is big, with good water pressure. Bruges has some of the most delicious water I've had, and it was super cold and refreshing straight out of the tap. There were limited places to put toiletries or hang towels, but I was thankful for the decommissioned shower gel holders attached to the wall, as I had to rinse a shirt and it was the perfect spot to hang it to start drying. There's plenty of powerpoints next to the bed, and little wall shelves that were super handy for storing things.

The bed was quite uncomfortable - two thin (~10cm) single foam mattresses on a king frame instead of a proper king mattress. I slept quite poorly, feeling the bump in the middle and the slats of the frame underneath. The wifi was quite slow and unreliable. Cleanliness and upkeep felt subpar, with large dust bunnies in the corner, dusty windowsills, and what looked like spare clean sheets stored in open tubs under the stairs in the lobby. The window latch needed reattaching, and the bottom wire of the toaster was badly twisted and almost non-functional (I managed to re-straighten it). This detracted from the charm and comfort we expected from the photos, which was a shame as we were very excited for it. But overall I had a very nice time in Bruges.

Accommodation was in a great location. The apartment was clean and well presented. The bed was a little firm for our liking as it had a thin mattress. Of the two days we were there unfortunately we had no hot water for most of it which put a dampener on the stay.
