It was an amazing experience. Not only you can stay in a castle but also experience all the nature around it. It truly is a falcon’s nest with a little falcons singing for their parents from the nest between the apartment’s windows. The host is very helpful and friendly and helped us learn a lot about the history of the place and area.

Host: François goes all out to make sure our stay is perfect, from early check in, personal guide to the Chateau, sharing the historical stories through the memoir (booklet available in the room) and even surprising my husband with a very thoughtful birthday gift gesture. Room: very modern and well equipped from the inside. Don't be fooled from the outside! Surroundings: Nature, wildlife (red deer, birds) and hiking trails. We hiked to Coo waterfalls and also visited the War Museum 44 Restaurants: by foot 30mins or car 2mins drive. Highly recommended Le vert de Pommier and Les Doux Ragots Bakery: by foot 20-30mins I would recommend to come during the opening season of F1 Spa to make use of the activities or in spring to see the falcons from the castle.

The falcon nest apartment (in which we slept) is called like this as it is below a falcon nest, literally (with its own door for the falcons). It is perfect for bird watchers/lovers as they will see falcons flying in and out in the area. The first night I was a bit sensitive to some noises, the second night I did not notice anything at all (maybe the falcons also got used to us :)). Perhaps because I got used to the surroundings, slept better as I was also more relaxed, and switched my pillow to a harder one that was in the living room. Aside from this small note (easy to remediate), no complaints, and in general a very quiet and peaceful environment to be in, close to nature.

First of all, the enthusiasm of François for sharing with us the history of the place and his family. Also the details in our apartment: including some chocolates, a fully equipped kitchen (with up to the smaller details included making you feel like home, e.g., baking paper), a small book about the history of the place during the 1st and 2nd World Wars written by the owner in 3 different languages, other books about the wars and the place of this Chateau in it, some binoculars and some other small surprises that I will not reveal (not to spoil your visit). Last but not least, the amazing views from the tower in our "Falcon nest" apartment that you can enjoy with the binoculars.
