Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.

We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceUpon check-in, I discovered that the room was infested with bed bugs — a shocking and completely unacceptable situation. Although I received a refund for the initial booking, the property offered no assistance in finding alternative accommodation. By 4 PM, we were left standing on the street with our suitcases, scrambling to find somewhere else to stay for the night. The only available option at such short notice was significantly more expensive. When I requested that the property reimburse the difference, they refused — and even went so far as to blame me for not finding a cheaper hotel. Their complete lack of responsibility and empathy was appalling. To make matters worse, I also found bugs in the toilet, raising additional concerns about cleanliness and hygiene. The presence of bed bugs poses a serious health risk. They can cause skin irritation, allergic reactions, and — perhaps most concerning — the possibility of bringing an infestation home through your luggage. This was not just an inconvenience; it was a legitimate health and hygiene concern. Don’t expect much help from Booking.com either. Their response was minimal, and their "goodwill gestures" were nonexistent. Be extremely cautious when booking this property, and do not rely on Booking.com to provide meaningful support if anything goes wrong.

New CaledoniaExtremely bad experience that left a bad taste not only in my lodging experience in Brussels but it overshadowed the whole time I spent in the Belgian capital. There were no reviews of the place, so I knew I was taking a risk. The pictures looked pretty good, it was close to the train station (where the bus took me from the airport after my flight was cancelled) so I went for it. What a mistake that was! The place is indeed close to the train station, but it's on a shady, trashy street, where I wouldn't feel comfortable walking around after dark. The apartment is on the second floor, you have to walk up some awkward narrow stairs. Not a big deal, unless you are carrying 2 big heavy suitcases. The description of the place clearly states: “private bathroom and private shower". I learned after I checked in that the two (bathroom and shower) refer to the exact same thing and there's no private toilet that comes with the room. The setup of the place (not counting the common area where the kitchen is) is the following: there are 3 bedrooms, rooms number 1 and 3 share a toilet, room number 2 has a private toilet. Having a private bathroom to me is primordial. That's one of the main reasons I picked that place. And to top this: the shared toilet was broken, it couldn't be flushed ...so I went to do my business at a nearby restaurant. The attitude of the host was lamentable. I paid for 4 nights and looked for a different place after the first. Even though the description of the room was inaccurate the host refused reimbursement. (Even partial). Her “excuse" was that I should have looked at the pictures, where it's visible that the toilet opens from the hallway. …If there's a toilet in the hall, there still could be one in the room, as described. The bed is uncomfortable. Cheap squeaky thing with an uneven, lumpy, mattress. Not for people with back issues! Bugs around the bathroom area.
Closeness to the train station
