We thought the breakfast was good and was a well balanced meal. Frederick made all the guests feel at home and provided us with some historical context. I thought the chocolates when arriving were a nice touch.

Nothing to dislike, a very memorable and enjoyable stay.

Over the years we have stayed in many hotels from large family holiday hotels to, in recent years, small and/or boutique hotels in several European countries but never anything to compare with De Zomere. This is an opportunity to stay in a piece of the town's history (one of the oldest buildings in Brugge) which has been tastefully and artistically adapted to a very high standard without losing or hiding the history and character of the property. Frederik is an excellent host who is keen for you to enjoy both the building and the town he grew up in; this is not so much a stay in an hotel as being a guest in someone's home (which, in Frederik's case, it is). We hope to return to Brugge and now would not even consider staying anywhere else.

We didnt like leaving!!!

The hotel is amazing, top class facilities set in a beautiful building. The room was furnished with excellent taste, beautiful bed and fantastic shower. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. The host is really friendly and very helpful. 10/10 for this hotel.

Loved it all.

This is one of the most interesting and memorable small hotels I have visited (and we have visited many). The building is an old historic structure in the heart of Bruges very near the center. It has been artfully and thoughtfully renovated by the proprietor who gladly explained its history and its structural nature. In spite of its age, the rooms and bathrooms are up to date. Breakfast was pleasant and satisfying.

This was an incredible place to stay! In the heart of everything, and yet quiet. The host is so friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing. Clean and comfortable, spacious, and so much history! This was our favorite accommodation of our entire trip.

Absolutely nothing. And that we only stayed one night.

Everything. As I said to Frederick the genial host, I've travelled extensively but this is the best place I have ever stayed in. A stunning property converted in the most tasteful and thoughtful way to an extremely high standard matched perfectly to the ancient charm. Frederick told us breakfast was served from 8 o'clock but as we were leaving early all was set at 6.30 and it was exceptional. The place is as close to perfection as you could wish for.

Everything about this B&B is excellent. The building is a beautiful piece of history in the middle of Bruges and there is so much attention to detail inside the B&B (most of it designed and made by the owner). Frederik was a memorable host - staying inside his childhood home and learning about it's history from him was very special. He was friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious. The rooms were unbelievable - everything was super clean and the bed was really comfy. This has to be one of the best accommodations we have stayed in whilst on holiday.

I have never stayed anywhere with such incredible attention to detail. The architecture, the artwork, the small decorations, the up cycling of used materials… the courtyard outside is a true haven and the rooms were beautiful and comfortable. One of the warmest and kindest hosts and a super friendly cat!

This is the best B&B we have ever stayed in! Frederik is absolutely wonderful and an amazing host. The building itself has so much history and each room has its own character. Our room was spacious, clean and comfy, and the location was perfect! Breakfast was delicious! Would highly recommend and wouldn't stay anywhere else if we visit Bruges again.

We felt so at home at De Zomare -B&B - I can't recommend it enough. Frederik made us feel amazingly welcome and the house is just wonderful, oozing with a combination of medieval history and beautiful modern design. I loved everything about it from the moment I entered the front door. What's more, the breakfast was divine, our bedrooms were very spacious with wonderful views and a heavenly comfortable bed. Frederik's knowledge of Bruges is incredible; he shared such interesting facts about the beautiful city over the ages - he was absolutely delightful company and also not at all imposing. We were really sad to leave and really want to return one day!

We loved the host; he was completely engaged and very friendly and open. The property is a labor of love and it shows, we could not have been more impressed with what he has done to it. Frederick has great taste and you get to experience it by staying with him. We would definitely try to stay again if we came back to town...oh, and my daughter and I were in love with his cat Nuk, we look forward to seeing both of them again.

I can’t think of a thing.

It is absolutely stunning in every way. The interior design and decor are exquisite while simultaneously providing luxurious comfort. The host’s charm and attention to detail are unparalleled and match perfectly with the unique history this building holds. Staying at De Zomere was the most lovely experience I could have imagined and far exceeded the high expectations I had.

Phenomenal host, wonderful location and house itself was beautiful. The work that Frederik had put into renovating it was wonderful to hear about and he was obviously very proud to host guests in his family home where he has created a wonderful quiet oasis with so many interesting historical and contemporary details to enjoy. And breakfast was fantastic!
