Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomRoom too hot. Bathroom had mouldy smell. No fruits at breakfast. Bed could be made up to make the room look more inviting. Bare walls.
Hotel room was clean but extremely basic. Bed was spread with a sheet only. duvet cover was folded on the bed with no duvet in it. The room was unbearbly hot. It had a wall mounted fan and windows which open which helped to make it comfortable. Bathroom ensuit was clean and towels clean and soft. However, due to the heat the bathroom had a mouldy smell which disappeared when doors and windows left open. The room had a fridge which was nice. European plug sockets next to the bed. Hotel communal areas very old worn and basic looking. Hotel felt safe and very quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. TV is via Chrome Cast. The hotel is situated in the local community overlooking flats and houses. Clean residential area. Bus stops in walking distance to get to city centres in 20 mins. What i liked. Chrome cast TV. WiFi in room. Fridge in room. Breakfast included. Easy to find and to get into city. . Cheap hotel safe to stay at for solo travellers on a budget. Quiet. Aldi and pizza hut across the road. Near by shops and restaurants.

CroatiaThe window in the room was broken and couldn’t be closed, which meant I could hear planes landing at Brussels Airport and the noise from the road, waking me up at 4 a.m. The room was also very stuffy; the fan didn’t help, and there was no air conditioning. The bathroom was quite dirty, with dust and some trash on the floor. The interior of the room was very basic and definitely did not match the price listed on Booking. As for breakfast, there were no eggs offered; only coffee, croissants, and cereal with milk were available.
Clean bed sheets.

GreeceMany things I didn't like, first and foremost the lack of proper cleaning. The carper, the bathroom, even the bed-sheets needed some proper cleaning. The drain in the bathroom stink like a dead animal, only way to suppress the bad smell was to leave some water in the sink. Second on my list is the breakfast, what was all the same, boring, few items during my stay: small breads, croissant, some chocolate pastry, cheap cheese and even more cheaper cold cut - only one type all along (even found some feather in the cut during one of my meals). Bright side of versatility was the three bins of cereals and oat, but that's all. I don't really mind the breakfast part, but without proper cleaning it is very unlikely that I'll visit this establishment again.
I did like the staff. All staff members I've met were extremely kind and supportive. Even though I've arrived way ahead of the official check-in time, the staff was able to manage to check me in for no extra fee, and I was also offered some late breakfast too. I've somewhat liked the location too, near to a road with reduced traffic (although the route is served by some local buses, didn't hear anything from the traffic in the room). Lidl, Cora are in walking distance, and the European District is also easy to reach either with buses or only a 3,5 km casual walk.

United KingdomThe bedroom had no heating BUT we were given a portable, so staff were helpful here The bed was quite uncomfortable and not in the least bit relaxing Slightly contradictory as they were decorating and being on the ground floor our room filled with the smell of paint and the noise of drilling. However long term this will be good for the establishment
Generally the staff were very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. One in particular helped with issues in the room (the heating was not working) travel plans and directions

United KingdomThere wasn’t a bedside lamp. When I need to go to toilet during the night I have to walk in the darkness to reach the main light in the room. When my partner is sleeping I have to put the bright light on to be able to see which is not nice for someone that is sleeping. No bedside lamp. Also they haven’t specified that we’re going to have a shared iron. My room was on the second floor and anytime I need iron to iron clothes, I have to go to reception to take it and as soon as I finish I have to bring it back to them straight away. It was inconvenient for me with the stairs going up and down as I have a knee problem.
The breakfast foods were ok.
