Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe price really should have warned me. Steep stairs, shared shower and toilet, sloping floor (and bed), half a pillow ( and a small cushion).
Right on the Plaza, it close to everything. The restaurant downstairs served good food (and beer).

IrelandIt is very noisy, as there is no air conditioning or fans, so we had to keep the windows open, and the noise from the street was unbearable all night. The lights were unplugged, and there was nowhere to plug them in. The floor was uneven, and the door was hard to open.
That was very central to the center.

NetherlandsThe room given to us was on 3rd floor with no lift. I was there with my parents so it was a bit difficult for them. They have their own restaurant on ground floor so in order to commute you have to pass through the restaurant which was not comfortable. The staff was ok but it seems like no one was actually managing the hotel as only waiters gave us the key and showed us the room. There is a shared bathroom on the floor and there are 4/5 rooms on one floor so you can imagine the washroom occupancy which was not great. The location is really good but one issue we faced was drunk people shouting/fighting around 1:30 am.
The location was great. It was very well connected and the hotel is in the centre with all sight seeing places near by.

United KingdomPlace needs a proper clean. Really difficult to sleep with the noise outside but this may be different when there isnt football fans in brugge. Not enough hangers for jackets and tops.
Location was amazing. Right on the main square. Bed was really comfortable and big with clean bedding. Beautiful restaurant downstairs. Staff were really friendly.

United KingdomWhere to start!! Well, it's on the cheaper side for a reason! It's not the type of hotel you expect to find in the beautiful old town of Bruges. It's old and badly needs redecorating. 1 bed was resting on 2 beer crates! Flies and ants in the shower. Lingering unpleasant smells in the stairway and toilet. Stains on the carpet. Smells from the restaurant in the stairway. Uneven floors and beds not level.
Located right on the main shopping street next to one of the big squares. Secure underground parking available 5 mins walk away. Beds had comfortable mattresses and clean sheets. Clean towels provided. Fine for 1 night, but wouldn't stay longer!

United StatesDid not receive the room I booked. I booked a room with a private bathroom and was given a room with a shared bathroom downstairs. When we arrived at 9pm after 2 long days of traveling I didn't check the booking, but once we were settled in, while my family was showering, I looked it up and realized we had been given the wrong room. It was already late at night and they were already in their pajamas so I just waited until the morning. When I said something to the staff in the morning, I was told there were no other rooms available and all they could do was let us into a used/uncleaned room to use the shower in that room. I declined, since that is the same thing as using the shared bathroom. When I asked about being given the lower rate of a room with a shared bathroom they said I would have to call the owner because they couldn't help me and I shouldn't complain because they gave us a larger room 2 double beds instead of a double bed and a single bed(that we did not ask for or need as we were 3 ppl and it made no difference). I did not call the owner since it would be an international roaming call and the service and attitude was already so poor, there was no point.
Location was excellent, easy access to the old city and all the sites as well as restaurants, etc. We had a nice breakfast at the hotel restaurant downstairs as well (not included). There are busses across the plaza, but we just walked to the main train station, since we weren't in a rush and it wasn't that far. The room was spacious although not what was booked (bigger room, but no en suite bathroom). The shared bathrooms were clean. Like most European properties there were no elevators and we had to schlep our bags up to the top floor, and there is a cut off time for check in so make sure you aren't late, but we knew that when booking.

NetherlandsFirst of all, it was impossible to sleep during the night because of the busy road. Showers and toilets were not that clean. The water was not draining in the shower on the 3rd floor. The floors were not clean. If you want to be located close to the city centre then it is ideal otherwise, not really.
The location was good. The staff were friendly.

United KingdomPaid more for the en-suite bathroom, but honestly wouldn’t bother doing this again. The shower and toilet are TINY!! We were rudely awoken one morning (around 9:30am) to a staff member letting himself into our room whilst we were sleeping!! He unlocked the door himself too!! This made me feel so unsafe, as I’m still unsure as to why he was entering anyways, due to there being no housekeeping?? - I am going to be taking this issue further. The hotel is above a restaurant, so you have responsibility of keys to the restaurant in the evening. Definitely something to consider if you don’t want this kind of responsibility, as I feel like this is mentioned no where?
The location is perfect, as it’s within walking distance to all that Bruges has to offer.

SpainThe bed was uncomfortable, you could hear everything from the hall. I had a very uncomfortable situation with the receptionist Omaar who tried to ask my number to go out with me at night. It was unnecessary and scary for me who does solo travel. For one night the place was ok but wouldn’t repeat nor recommend
