This was the first time post-Covid that I'd stopped here, having stayed on several occassions previously, most recently in 2019. My expectations despite the 6 year gap between stays were met Sophy, the owner, was charming. The location is excelent for touring Flanders. The bedroom was comfy, spotlessly clean with ample drawer and cupboard space for clothes etc. The breakfast buffet was first class. The communal area was also spotless with plenty of information about the local area (e.g. places to visit, restaurants etc.) and the honesty bar was amply stocked with a variety of drinks and snacks.

Other than the stairs, which are a bit steep for my old legs there's nothing not to like

Nothing loved it all

We had an excellent stay. A lovely renovation. Amazing breakfast. Easy parking. Very nice owners who run the hotel.

There is a road and there is some noise although it was not constant and did not keep us away. Our bed would be better located on another wall as you couldn’t sit up and read in bed.

Beautiful accommodation, lovely location, superb bedroom and bathroom. Lovely breakfast - you might say ‘scrambled eggs and bacon’ but it looked lovely and tasted excellent. Very nice hosts too!

Gorgeous home outside of Ypres. The surroundings were amazing. Room was just lovely and had everything we needed. Breakfast was also amazing!

We booked D'Hommelbelle mostly based on the rating ... and it is totally justified. A beautiful home from home in a rural location, but only a few minutes from Poperinge town centre. Sophie is a fantastic host and the facilities are fantastic. The bar and kitchen area in the photos are open for everyone to use, so you could even cook a meal if you want to. The bar works on an honesty system so just help yourself whenever you want. The gardens are great (although it was a bit wet to sit out when we visited). The rooms are modern and comfortable with good lighting and air-con. There are no drinks facilities in the room, but that didn't matter as the bar / kitchen was available downstairs. Breakfast is included and was superb. Ypres / Ieper is only 20 minutes drive away, with access to the entire area. Even if you don't have a car, D'Hommelbelle is a short taxi ride from the station in Poperinge, which will take you to Ieper and beyond. We will definitely be back to stay in the future.
