How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLovely location in a quiet village. You do need to travel to go to restaurants, but the nearby village of Vielsalm has several to choose from (about a 10min drive). The room we had, Valéry, was large with a seating area and small table and chairs. There was a kettle, microwave and fridge in the room (it would have been nice to know this in advance). The breakfast was expansive with a variety of meats, cheeses and pastries as well as cereals and yoghurts. We were even offered a glass of bubbly on our last morning which was a lovely treat.
Not much parking available so had to be a little creative at times.

Verified reviewBreakfast was very grand with a lot of fresh choices. Coffee was the only minus, because it came from a machine.. Not very good espresso, too hot. Great couches to launch on in the evening, with a big fireplace for the cold evenings ahead...
Unfortunately the kitchen was closed when we arrived on the friday evening. And the host had almost left the premises at 20.00 sharp, although we messaged and called a couple of times to tell them when we would arrive (we were late due to a punctured tire).

Verified reviewNice landscape but that’s as far as it goes. I was full of expectations after reading all the good reviews BUT
It was a nightmare as they are strictly French speaking. The house wasn’t too great. Every time somebody used his key, walked around, used their door or was talking it woke you up. Attended only for breakfast. Breakfast was great the first morning but Themas the left overs got served 4 days on the trot and on day 3 chicken sausage was off already and other food dried on the outside or hard ish. You never had peace at breakfast because the staff just pacing and clearing tables around you . They weren’t needed again so no need for this mega disturbing environment. On top breakfast was from 7:30-9:30 but they started putting everything away without making you aware of it at 8:45 and I had to get more for breakfast somewhere else. For check out I had to place the key next to their laptop as nobody was available at all. They had sort of a room service but they thought moving your stuff around is appropriate. It actually wasn’t. Came back on the end of the day and everything was moved around and touched all my personal stuff. They probably meant well but no way that I want people moving my clothes and private items around. Talking about around had to walk with kettle and microwave around in the room to find a working plug. My back was in half lifting the microwave around but sadly had to because no facilities for food around. No smoking corner or ashtray- people had to throw their cigarette ends on ground and that looked not nice at all because it was building up over the stay.

Verified reviewIt's been a very relaxing stay. Good room, gorgeous bathroom with enough supplies. Didn't have a shower curtain, but the layout was spacious enough that it didn't cause inconvenience. Gorgeous view, good breakfast with a lot of choices and unlimited coffee throughout the day. We relaxed a lot in the garden. Big parking in the back. Friendly staff. The chef showed us around even though we arrived towards 10PM. Later we also met the hostess who was nice and friendly and took good care of us.
1. Squeaky floors. Whenever people in the room above ours would walk around, waking up in the morning or getting ready for sleep in the evening, we would be in for a squeaky stumping concert for an hour or so... 2. We couldn't find a menu in english online. We were picking the restaurant for dinner and wanted to see what options are there in ours, but only found the menu in french. For me it was not a problem, but i couldn't properly translate the dishes to my husband who doesn't speak french.
