Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomPerfect location in Bruges and an amazing host! Luc is a good man. He was so attentive and friendly, he really made us feel at home. The breakfast he prepared was delicious and one of the highlights of our stay. The rooms were huge, with plenty of space for us and our luggage, and right in front of the canal where we could watch the boats go by. Our daughter especially loved waving to the tourists from our window. He couldn’t do more to make our visit special. Highly recommended! Thank you, Luc!

United KingdomThe beds are quite soft to our taste and the bathroom is across the hall from thw family room It's an old house though so this is understandable.

ArgentinaI saw in Booking that I could do the check out till 11. When I told the host at 9 am that I would go and walk around the town a but and I would be back before 11 to free the room he told me I needed to leave the room empty now. It was a bummer because I was expecting to have the facilities of the room a bit more but I was denied. At least he let me leave my lugagge in the house, though it was in the reception of the house, available for anyone to open it or tame if they had wanted to. One last thing: I didn’t love to find out how much overpriced is the house in Booking compared to the brochures I saw in the house.
Great place to stay if you want the expierence of living in an old classic house from Brugges for a night or two. The house is located right in front of a canal and it is very quiet as it’s close to the centre of the town but not in it. The house is old so expect noisy floors and, depending on the room you book, a toilet outside your room or a bathroom without a shower. I stayed in the room that has garden view and the bathroom inside the bedroom but that doesn’t have a shower, instead there’s a bathtub which is great for a one-night stay to have the experience. The kitchen is very nice and the host was very friendly and polite! On the day I was leaving I was allowed to leave my luggage in the reception of the house and use a bathroom when I came back for it later in the afternoon.

United StatesCreaky floorboards (but it is an old house!). No common area; the bedroom is the only place to sit in when relaxing at the house. No shower in the en-suite bathroom - bath only. The other two rooms have bathrooms although one is in the hallway. Parking for only one car so be sure to ask for it. If not available, public enclosed parking is close for €15 for 24 hours (Mar 2024).
Easy walk to the center of Bruges, within old city area. Big, old traditional house with spacious bedrooms. Fabulously helpful and pleasant host, Luc. He provided a very satisfying breakfast.

United KingdomIt was all great. I'd have preferred to have had an ensuite bathroom just because we have 3 young children, resulting in about a million bathroom trips. There were creaky floorboards so I worried about disturbing everyone else! It worked out fine though, but I'll check better next time.
Location was excellent and overlooked the canal. Beautiful traditional building with lots of fun and quirky features. Our host Luc was friendly and created a good balance of being attentive and giving us space. We had the family room, which was sizable and comfortable.

AustraliaNothing to report except that the narrow staircase can be challenging for those with mobility issues.
The grand historic character home was beautifully set up as a guest house. Our room was airy and spacious for the 3 of us with an ensuite bathroom and shared toilet in the hallway. The home was perfectly located on the picturesque canal (view from our windows) and within close proximity to the old townsite by foot. Our host Luc was welcoming and attuned to our needs.
