Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesAlthough the house has a nicely appointed kitchen, with induction cooktop, microwave, fridge and dishwasher, and an abundance of dishes and glasses, there are some obvious things lacking in the kitchen that one would want for cooking. The nonstick sauté pans were chipping and scratched, making them not very nonstick and possibly a hazardous source of PFAS chemicals. These should be changed out for new. There is not a single mixing bowl, which would be useful for mixing eggs, sauces, salads, etc. Many of the prep knives are dull. We enjoyed several meals for breakfast and dinner in the house, but it was a challenge to invent new ways to get things done. In the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms, there is not a single hook, pole or rack to hang a wet towel or clothes. This would be an easy fix and I suggest the owners try and spend a couple of days living there.
This guest house is nicely laid out, with an open kitchen/dining/living room area, and an adjacent terrace on the ground floor. You enter the property through a locked door/gate into the back yard of the owners house, and then through a second locked door into the rental house. The two are separated quite a ways, and the whole place is very private. The two bedrooms upstairs are simple, but each are clean and spacious for two people. It’s a beautifully renovated building, with lots of light and character. It overlooks an important park in town yet feels very private. Everything was clean and comfy. The owners provide a ton of local information, and the kitchen is well stocked with fresh eggs, coffee, condiments, etc. A very inviting, comfortable and interesting place to call home for 6 days. The owners are very generous and kind, and responsive to our requests without being fussy or intrusive. It’s just a 15 min walk to the train station! Couldn’t be easier to find and makes a nice walk. It’s also an even shorter walk to a local grocery/market and an assortment of bakeries, chocolate shops, etc. The property is exceptionally quiet! The loudest noises we heard were church bells and parrots in the morning.

United KingdomThe stairs are steep and would not be easy for someone with mobility issues.
House is well-equipped and location is fantastic looking out onto the park, close to shops and restaurants, and an easy walk into the city centre.

United KingdomThe location is in a very tranquil location adjacent to a lovely park and within easy walking distance of the historic centre. It has a private patio next to a narrow canal overlooking the park. The en-suite bedrooms were very comfortable. Bernard the host couldn't have been more helpful.

United KingdomNothing really!
The accommodation was just what we wanted - plenty of space for all four of us with our own private bedrooms/bathrooms. The coach house has a lovely terrace/garden space to have meals outside, overlooking a beautiful park. It has a lovely vibe - really comfy and relaxed. It was very well equipped and I loved the fact that basic essentials like coffee, tea, oil, salt, pepper, kitchen towel, dishwasher tablets were provided. We topped them up a bit, but it's so nice not to have to buy all those essentials. It was very close to all the things to see and do in Bruges, but just outside the centre so it was very quiet. Bernard and his family were really friendly, helpful and hospitable. All in all, a perfect stay! Thank you!

United KingdomNothing.
Perfect location. An easy 10 minute walk from the trains station and only a few minutes from the centre of Bruges, but it also feels quiet and secluded. The lovely courtyard garden overlooks one of the canals and the minnewater park beyond.

South Africaeverything was perfect. If I was being very picky, the chipped bowls for soup need to be replaced and I am so sure that they now are.
Perfect location to explore Bruges and then come home to peace and quiet and a lovely little garden over looking a canal and the park. There is wine and beer available with a price list which we found super convenient. Very stylish property an extremely comfortable. Our host was so helpful and kind

Hosts were helpful with tourist tips and very friendly. Also a variety of maps, tourist brochures available in various languages. Bedrooms upstairs are spacious with ensuite shower and toilet. United KingdomA superbly equipped coach house. A warm and friendly welcome with concise location details sent prior, made it a seemless arrival with no problems. Parking was easy and straightforward - 10 euros per day in a secure car park arranged through owner. The coach house is beautiful, location is perfect. All mod cons with many eclectic additions, makes this such a unique place to stay, Breakfast looking out to the Minnewater area is idyllic. A short enjoyable walk will find you in the centre of Bruges. I would not hesitate to return or recommend this place to all. Thank you Bernard and Barbara for making our stay in your wonderful city, fabulous.

CanadaThe stairs going up to the bedrooms were very dangerous. Too steep and unsafe. Easy to slip & fall. The kitchen towels were old & in poor condition.
The outside patio was wonderful. The area was quiet, safe, & easy to walk to main square . Beautiful place to stay. The mini bar makes it easy to enjoy the great beers of Belgium. Coffee is great.

ChileThings that can be improved: we cooked a lot at the house and we would've liked to have more bowls for salads and side dishes. I travelled with my grandmother and she thought it would be a good idea to add a shower grab bar to make the shower safer for older people. If you're travelling with kids and/or older people, keep in mind that the bathrooms and rooms are on the second floor.
Perfect location, right between the city center and the train/bus station. The view from one the rooms overlooked the park which was super nice and relaxing. The kitchen was well equipped, it had a dishwasher and cleaning supplies available. Bernard, the host, was super nice and he was available to answer all out questions and also willing to make recommendations. Also, smooth check-in and even though the host's house is in front, the B&B is totally independent. There's also a terrace in front of the canal and park which is a dream and super comfy. Finally, the beds were super comfy too.
