Personally the bed was too soft for.me but that is a personal preference.

Reception not open at 5pm as advertised and we had to wait 30 minutes for owner to arrive. That said owner was most hospitable and gave us a complimentary beer. Facilities were very tired and in need of a thorough upgrade. For the standard of hotel we felt the cost was €20-€30 per night too high.

At our arrival time (which was within the times listed and when we informed the hotel we would arrive) there was no one available to check us in and we had to wait for quite a while without knowing where the person on staff was and without a way to contact them. When we checked out in the morning, there was also no one there. We found this a bit confusing.

The bed was comfortable, breakfast was good, and the location was excellent. The room was clean and had all the things we needed for a comfortable stay. The people working were friendly.

Beds in our room we're pretty much close to collapse and the mattresses were hardly fit for purpose. Unfortunately the toilet was located so close to the radiator you could hardly sit on it...had to go side saddle and I'm not big. I wouldn't recommend the breakfast as it is literally a nominal amount of bread, cheese and ham, no fruit , no yoghurt....no toaster or cereal

There is actually no management at all other than a young girl with limited English command. She's trying so hard to provide a decent service, running from the reception to the bar and back, but the outcome is not enough. The restaurant is closed, the common space furniture is dirty and outdated. The breakfast is poor. Overall it seems that the hotel has seen better days.... It is a shame cause the structure could be a jewel.

It's in a good position, just under the castle and at the starting point of most hiking paths. The room was quiet with a good hot shower.

staff not very helpful, breakfast poor, when a larger group came in there was no food, you had to wait a long time for service. for twenty people there were 2 wrinkled apples. in the attic room during the day and at night there was a huge noise (like a truck parked above your head with the engine running)

The position in the town was great. Breakfast was self service. Towards the end of the stay there was less and less food available to choose from. The reception was only available via the telephone. There was no restaurant. Parking was free in front of hotel

The rooms and bathrooms are little dated and in particular the latter could do with a some upkeep. the staff were helpful but some seemed to lack the proper attention to customers (had to be reminded to replenish breakfast items).

Staff were helpful, providing an alternative to the room which was booked but turned out to be damaged (lock). location is very good, right on the river and a bridge across it. The value for money is ok given that breakfast was included in the price, even if the breakfast is a little minimalistic (but ok).

We tried to phone the hotel several times to advise we would not arrive until 8pm but there was no answer. When we did arrive at 8pm there was no one there at the hotel and again we tried to phone but no answer. The next door restaurant also tried to phone for us but again no answer. We sent an email advising we would have to now find alternative accommodation. We had to book at another hotel in town and the manageress there told us this has happened to other people ie they have paid for a room but no one is there to open the hotel. Very disappointed and we are waiting for a full refund
