Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkErika and Dietrich are fantastic hosts who gladly share their advice on the city and showed a genuine interest in our family. Fantastic B&B, filled with curiosities - it's like stepping into a deluxe version of BBC's Antiques Roadshow. Brilliant breakfast - Erika is an excellent breakfast chef. Really good location location for experiencing historic/central Bruges. A 100% recommendation from Denmark

The place is decorated with historical objects from the last century. It is hard to describe unless you see it. Beautiful large rooms. Patio and hot tub are available. Breakfast is delicious.

TurkeyErika and Dietrich were very friendly and lovely and they are also respectful of the boundaries and privacy. The room was comfortable, breakfasts were amazing and there was something to look forward to the next morning. We also did the wellness. The sauna and jacuzzi were very nice to wind down from a long day of walking and experiencing the city.

This is undoubtedly the best B&B I have ever stayed at. The house is a carefully curated gem, the room is dreamy, and the hosts — Erika and Dietrich — are lovely, generous, and helpful. One travels not just for the sights (of which Bruges has plenty) but to encounter kind souls and kindred spirits such as them.

United StatesEverything about this little gem in Bruges was exceptional! The hosts, Erika and Dietrich, were so gracious and helpful and literally went out of their way to help us. We stayed for three nights and were sad to leave their B&B with its convenient location, fabulous decor, comfortable room, welcoming touches, and most especially the amazing breakfasts at their large antique farm table! The food offerings each morning of fresh breads and pastries, cheese and meats, fruit and yogurt etc were beautifully laid out, and then there was always a daily extra special breakfast item which Erika whipped up which was beyond delicious. We are so grateful to have stayed here.

United StatesWasn't a problem for us (late May), but no AC so could be hot in the summer. Listing mentions they have fans available. Also no issue for us but narrow/steep stairs could be difficult for some.
Lovely hosts, amazing breakfasts (so much deliciousness and very accommodating to a vegetarian), adorable and sweet dog. Charming collection of antiques. Wonderful location, could walk to all corners of the historic district in <20 mins. Wish we had been able to stay longer, hope to return!

AustraliaNothing, all was great! (Except it was hard to get an early start to the day as we were all made so comfortable around the breakfast table! 😄)
The property is in a quiet location yet close to restaurants and cafes and an easy walk to the main square and the bus stop if you need to get from/to the railway station. It’s an out of the ordinary B&B with warm and delightful hosts. Both Erika and Dietrich are very helpful with suggestions for places to visit and where to dine or shop from. The breakfast is plentiful and has lots of variety, happy to help with dietary requirements and E is an excellent cook! She delights in providing a little surprise every morning. The house is very clean, my room was spacious and had a great walk in shower, 3 other rooms have lovely baths with hand held shower heads, the 5th bedroom also has a shower. Each room has coffee/tea making facilities and they provide you with little treats. Sitting and chatting around the breakfast table with the other guests was also a very pleasant experience. And the company of their little friendly puppy Flanelle was a bonus! There is also a private sauna and spa/hot tub if you wish to use it at extra cost.

AustraliaWe only booked 2 nights....🥹! For those with mobility issues, there are a couple of flights of stairs, so when booking, it would pay to request a lower floor room.
Erika and Dietrich were brilliant. Prior to (and during) our stay, we received a number of recommendations for eateries... including Lizzies Waffles (the best waffles in Belgium... and fantastic hot chocolate!), plus The Chocolate Line for incredible chocolates, both of which we visited = must-dos when in Bruges. Erika and Dietrich were so welcoming (as was their beautiful 4-legged friend, a Belgian called Flanelle... I hope I spelled that correctly)... we felt so much at home. We arrived a little early, and our room wasn't quite ready, so Erika made us a lovely hot drink with a yummy chocolate... during which time Dietrich kindly (and sneakily) took our bags to our room. The B&B has so much character (Dietrich is quite the collector, with his collections scattered throughout... wow!), and the rooms were spacious and top quality. Breakfasts were sumptious... on our last morning, we were due to leave 1/2 an hour before the scheduled breakfast time, and Erika said no problem at all and she would have that ready for us at 7:30... yummy French toast! The B&B is located a very easy walk to the many attractions, so it is perfect for tourists. We can't recommend Erika and Dietrich more highly. We look forward to visiting again soon!

United KingdomErika and Dietrich are charming hosts , very friendly and welcoming. However i think they may be upstaged a little by their lovely dog, Flan. We booked a deluxe room which was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was varied each day with meats, cheeses, breads and other tasty treats including a very delicious quiche .
