Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNoise from other guests until the early hours (in the court yard) One small cup of tea in the morning, and having to pay 2.5 euros if I wanted another. Having to hand in my key each time I left the building, even just going outside to my vehicle.

United KingdomIt is fantastic value but a couple of things would make it better. Large towels, only hand towels. We were both over 6feet ! Bedside maps so one person can read if the other doesn’t want to. Also if possible comfortable chairs so you don’t have to sit on bed.
The location was fantastic . Beautiful part of Antwerp close to lovely cafes and restaurants . Easy access to tram to take you into the historic centre.

NetherlandsThe room wasn't properly cleaned, especially the bathroom. I found black hair on the floor around the bathtub. I have blond hair. The mirror was dirty. The toilet wasn't flushed or cleaned. The floor wasn't vacuumed or mopped.
The people at the reception are kind and helpful.

BelgiumThe rooms weren’t too neat unfortunately. Stains on the pillows, on the bedsheet and some longhaired brunette person’s hair in the bathroom. My room also had some technical problems like a leak with the heater and the shower head that wouldn’t properly attach and was leaking when used.
This is a very affordable hotel that is well located in a safe area with easy access to the Antwerp Central station and the city center. The bed was comfortable and there was no air conditioning but there was a big fan in my room so I slept quite comfortably in “warm” Belgian weather.

RomaniaThe bathroom door is a sliding door fixed just on top, so not fully a door, you could still hear or see inside from certain angles. Didn't bother us but thought it was worth mentioning in case you travel with a friend. There was no air conditioning, it was extremely hard to fall asleep because of the extreme heat. We needed to leave the window open but there were a lot of mosquitos so I would recommend that they leave something against mosquitos in the room.
For the price (60euros/night) I think it was nice, basic room but it had what we needed.

KazakhstanI could hear neighbors loud walking and singing) and could feel smoke in the room when you enter, but they can’t control every guest. Staff informs about smoking policy.
Location is super nice, walkable distance from everything. Also you could hear birds singing in the morning. Comfortable bed. It’s pretty basic, but that covers all your needs

FranceCredit card number Is given in case of « no show » Paid cash at entrance and it was extremely complicated to have a receipt (only got few words written on a card with no stamp from the hôtel, same for leaving, no room vérification or note of leaving it means if double payment is made on the crédit card, it will be extremely complicated to prove that I was here)
The room was not 5 star but super clean with all your basic needs for a single night

BulgariaThe sink was in the room instead of being in the bathroom as expected. Also, there wasn't an electric kettle in the room although it was mentioned in the description.
The hotel is exactly opposite the Royal museum of Fine Arts, 15 minutes walking distance to the city centre. Very quiet and peaceful street. The staff was friendly and helpful.

FranceThe hotel is located around 25 minutes from the central station. If you are carrying heavy luggage, I’d recommend you to take the metro, which directly connects you to the hotel. We were welcomed by a cheerful receptionist, and overall, the checking-in was smooth. We booked a standard double room with a shared bathroom. Before giving us the key to the room, the receptionist informed us we booked a budget room, which from the way she sounded, it looked like we made a grave mistake. Not exactly the kind of news you would wish to hear at the beginning of your stay. We braced ourselves for the worst, but the room turned out to be ok. It did match the description, except there was no water boiler for tea and coffee. Instead, the room had a fan, which had obviously been forgotten there since the summer. The room is clean, and the bed is comfortable. There were obvious traces of mold on the windowsill. While overall, the room was nice, it does need a bit of repair (or a facelift). The reception was kind to offer us coffee in the morning; you just had to go down each morning to pick it yourself. The place is clean. It is renovated but still holds the spirits of the past. For example, you can still hear the pipes purring whenever someone takes a shower in different rooms. It did not disturb us as much, but for light sleepers, this may be something they should be aware of. Overall, we enjoyed our stay..and One last thing: it is located in a very nice neighbourhood. A visit to Andy for a coffee in the morning is a MUST.

RomaniaI found it a bit odd that I had to leave my key every time I wanted to leave and that when I would re-enter I would have to say my room number but could easily see the other keys sitting there and was not asked to show ID. I also didn't like that I was accused of sharing my room with someone when I was alone. It was easy to hear other people in the other rooms.
The property is in a very convenient location. The staff are friendly enough. You definitely know that the building is secure. The room was equipped enough. The room was heated in the evening.

GermanyIt didn't always seem to be kept into condition. Some minor stuff. Rooms sometimes felt really thin as you could hear the neighbours talking. Cushions felt really high.
It was a comfortable room, enough space and wc/toilet in the room. In general a solid deal for the money.
