Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt was a tiny box at the top of 50 stairs without an elevator or fan. We had to leave the window open all night (we’re staying in June) on a very loud street with cars and trains. The area had people yelling so if you want a calm place book something else.
The food nearby is good. Beds/bathroom was clean

BrazilSomeone tried to open our room during the night, the receptionist knocked on our door at around 1:30 in the morning, asking if we had a reservation, which was really clueless. I barely slept that night because I was scared.

IndiaI stayed in a 4-bed male dormitory. There was only one key, which had to be shared by all the occupants. The last person to leave the room was responsible for locking it and submitting the key at the reception. Anyone returning had to collect the key from reception to unlock the room. The hostel was located in an area where many immigrants from Africa and Arab countries live. It didn’t feel very safe at night, as people on the street would greet you randomly. If you responded, they would start asking for food or money. At first, I used to reply, but eventually, I stopped responding altogether. The room had only one window for ventilation, which had to be kept open to avoid excessive heat. However, the noise from a nearby restaurant and train line was disturbing at night, especially since there was a bar right next to the property and lot of immigrants drink and eat there. The property was located on a busy road. In the room, there were two men who appeared to be long-term immigrant residents. They smoked inside the room, kept the toilet dirty, and even washed their clothes in the bathroom, hanging them to dry inside the room. Overall, this place might be okay for a short stay of 1–2 nights, but I wouldn’t recommend it for anything longer.
I am travelling in Europe and this is my sixth country and I never seen such a staff. Staff is really great and polite. The opposite side of the property local market open on the street where any one can buy cheap fruits , groceries and food. The market is best as compared to other super market in the brussel.

New ZealandNothing seemed to work that well and a bit Mickey Mouse overall. Too dear for what you got, but that’s maybe Brussels.
Close to the train station is it’s only bonus. Not much worked, asked for two beds got one. It’s in a scummy area with lots of character!

Brazil- The aisles are dark, painted in black and horribly dirty - The location is noisy - If you need towels you have to pay for them. - There isn't even hand soap in the bathrooms of the bedrooms. - No parking space. - The surrounding neighborhood isn't so friendly. - There's a vending machine that doesn't work and I wonder why it is there first of all.
- Friendly staff - Close to the center of Brussels - Convenience stores close by - Clean bedrooms - Clean bathrooms - Good shower - Clean bedsheets - Ventilation in the bedrooms - Great price

AustriaI'd have appreciated a hand towel and some soap in the bathroom, and the mattress was a bit too thin for the hard frame of the bunk beds
There were some mix-ups with the room, so instead of a room for one I had a room for four all for myself, neither a plus nor a con, shit happens, and I had a bed to sleep in. The place was clean, the sheets smelled and felt fresh, the staff was friendly.

ItalyThe hotel is in a very bad location, is very unsafe there and there are noises for the whole night. It is very hard to find since there is no logo or stand that indicates the entrance. The hotel staff is gentle but the rooms are terrible, you can feel a very bad smell from the stairs and the room smell is bad as well. When we entered we found the toilet all wet and the trash can full of beers. We saw people entering in the hotel and telling us that they found 3/4 people occupying their room. We were scared for our goods so we installed a little camera in order to visit the city calmly.
I didn't like much, actually I didn't like anything.

United KingdomWe were at the property at 17:12h and were waiting for the room to be ready por half an hour. We were travelling long and wanted to have a shower and a proper nap before checking out at 19:30h to continue with our trip. At check in they said the room was about to be ready in 10 minutes, that is unacceptable when their policy says checking from 15:00h. I hope this complaint gets further and helps other users.

TurkeyThere was no elevator and so many stairs. It was too hard that carry our baggage to our room. Also nobody helped for it. And of course location.. It was so scary for both of us like 2 girls. So dirty, so crazy, wild location. We just wanted to eat somewhere but it was impossible there.
Room was kinda clean.

New ZealandNo AC gets way too hot in summer. The building was a little hard to find, you have to buzz to get in each time you want to come in. It looks a bit mysterious and uninviting from the outside. There was a carnival happening when we went which is right outside but the sound isolation was quite good against that. In the mornings there is very loud door slamming that woke us up and people talking in the hallways.
Good location, 30 min walk to town. All the staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. 24/7 front desk. Very clean. Small samples of soap provided. Good bedding and pillows. Towels also provided. Great shower pressure. Stored our bags before and after our stay at no extra cost.

United KingdomThey forgot to give me a card so I could not put the lights on, I was too tired to understand when I arrived. A bit hard to find at first but that was my fault.
Friendly reception, it was near the Trainline and I loved to hear them passing late at night and early in morning. Found a good little place to stay to get early train to Germany and now I know it is very near Bruxelles Midi station. Room has a nice bijou ensuite bathroom with shower.

SerbiaPlease think carefully about whether you want this accommodation. First of all, the corridors are dark and the stairs are steep and very narrow. If you have a suitcase, it will be difficult to climb up. I had a single bedroom and there was a bed, two stools and a wooden stump in the room. The bathroom is small. But that's all fine, but the street is pretty creepy, it's close to the train station and a construction site. It's very noisy, full of homeless people and suspicious people. Be careful at night, especially if you are a woman and be careful with your wallets on the street. I should mention that the neighboring rooms are also poorly insulated, so you can hear everything, slamming doors and the like. If it's for one night and you don't have a lot of money, take this accommodation but expect challenges.
It was cheaper for sure and close to the city centre.
