How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe owners of the boat were super friendly and helpful.
We had a problem in our room: the carpet was soaking wet in half of the room and it gave off a bad smell.

Verified reviewThe boat has a great location, just under te Citadell of Namur. From our room we had a special and beautiful view of the river and the houses on the other side of the riverbank. Our room had a very comfortable bed and we had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. I can recommend this place wholeheartedly if you are up for a not ordinary stay in the city of Namur!

Verified reviewI normally never take the time to write reviews but I feel it is my duty to do so on this stay. Having worked myself in hospitality for many years, experienced top notch properties all over the world with excellent service. The boat is located at the center of Namur, everything is just a stone throw away. You can easily walk within minutes to the center, to the citadel, to the casino (fun at night time). Bernard, the host (I hope I remember his name correct), is very kind and social, his Flemish is cute! He arrives in the morning to prepare your breakfast but then leaves so you can just hang around the boat and do your thing, leaves you to your privacy. Before arrival Bernard asked if there was a special occasion for our stay, he did the effort to get a bottle of champagne as it was my partner birthday - at no cost. Breakfast is amazing, ask for boiled eggs and he brings in this thing that will make the perfect crack in your egg so you can spoon it out. I give this stay, the MS Elisabeth - Péniche Hôtel and Bernard my top rating!
Nothing !

Verified reviewUnique experience of staying on a boat, we’ve loved it! The location is great - city centre (with some nice restaurants) is only a short walk away, and there’s a big parking garage close by if you’re coming by car. Also, the host was very nice and welcoming.

Verified reviewGreat stay in a lovely moored boat on the river. Room was typical of the type expected on a boat, but all needs were met.
Had a lovely breakfast with all home made goods, however at 18 euros each, it was pricey.

Verified reviewLovely night on the water. Don't bother going into town at night, just get some food and a drink and enjoy the setting from the rear deck. Some reviews say it is difficult to find by road - just follow the fence alongside the riverside road to its downstream end and turn left.

Verified reviewA great location, and something different. Martine the host was very welcoming and friendly. Was lovely having breakfast on the deck looking at the river.
The eggs, bread and croissants were very fresh but it would have been nice to have had some fruit and cereal offered as well at breakfast.

Verified reviewBrilliant location just a short walk into Namur centre. Very nice to be on the river. Our host was very welcoming and helpful and the rooms were very good. We loved Namur and enjoyed the bars and had an excellent meal at Le Temps des Cerises .
We declined breakfast which seemed quite expensive for what was on offer. In fact the price had gone up compared to what had been quoted on Booking.com. We opted to walk into Namur to breakfast there which worked very well.

Verified reviewWe arrived quite late but received clear guidance from the owners regarding where to park and how to access the boat. The only temporary (few minute) hitch resulted from stupidity on our part regarding how the door onto the boat works (it slides) We were the only ones staying on the boat so we had the deck to ourselves and spent an hour and a half relaxing and sipping wine (that we brought) while enjoying the night. We had the room with the double bed and it was extremely comfortable. I had to get up early to do a few hours of work and appreciated the Nespresso machine in the room (not so uncommon these days, but still a nice touch). I was able to sit out on the comfortable deck and work while watching the sun come up. The breakfast was excellent. My wife and I were very sorry that we were only spending one night. We definitely plan to come back.
