Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe rooms on the top floor are quite a slog to get to! But generally nothing not to like!
The Hotel Boutique Shamon is a wonderful property, lovingly restored by our hosts. We received a very warm welcome from the owner who was understandably very proud of her restoration of the property. Whilst the renovation is perhaps not complete, it certainly is near to completion and the property is a wonderful sight outside, and more impressive inside. Our room was on the top floor and very spacious, clean and in keeping with the property. There is an "honesty" bar process which means you can grab a drink and sit outside or in the front sitting room. Breakfast was wonderful and we could not have been made to feel more welcome. It's a 20 minute walk down a fairly uninspiring road to get to the centre where there is a varied choice of bars and restaurants. If we are in the area again, we would not hesitate to return.

NetherlandsEverything was perfect!
This hotel truly made my stay wonderful. The comfort and cleanliness of the accommodations were exceptional. The bathrooms are modern and spotless and have fantastic showers and facilities. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the staff for their genuine care and attention. As someone with gluten intolerance, I appreciated how they went above and beyond to ensure I had a great breakfast experience. They even prepared a special meal just for me, which was a thoughtful gesture. It was an incredible experience that I will cherish!

GermanyThe hotel is at a road on which there is quite some traffic, but windows are excellent and there is no noise at all in the rooms.
The stay in the Boutique Hotel Shamon was wonderful. It is an excellent stop for excursions to Brugge, Gent and Antwerpen. The owner are very friendly and one feels that the hotel is very precious for them. The breakfast is excellent. Also the rooms are well equipped. We have enjoyed it very much!

United KingdomThe bedside lights were in the Tiffany style and whilst beautiful, there wasn’t enough light to read a book at night but this is just being very picky in order to fill this box!
The Tiffany suit we had was large with good facilities. It was also lovely and quiet. The breakfast at the hotel was really nice quality, fresh and healthy. Natural orange and apple juice, coffee machine, excellent granola and natural or fruit yogurt, pastries, meats, cheese and eggs to order. Lots of choice. The beautiful weather meant we were able to eat outside on the terrace with views of the extensive garden. The dining room was also a lovely room, large with natural light and nicely decorated. The owners and staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. 😊We hired e-bikes and l would highly recommend doing this (perhaps pre-book?) as the bike lanes are amazing. We travelled 35 km through woods and country lanes and only had one car pass us!. The hotel is also ideally situated for a 25 minute train to Gent.

GermanyI cannot think of anything.
The house is just beautiful. Our room was very clean, we enjoyed great breakfast each morning, self made joghurt, self made jam... great. The railway station is within 7 minutes walk. You can reach Brugge, Gent and Antwerpen in a very good time. We had a great stay. Most important: Windy and Tomas are perfect hosts. Thank you so much!

GermanyThe privately run boutique hotel makes the heart of art nouveau lovers beat faster. There are many decorative details to discover and each room exudes its own individual charm. The hotel is run by Windy and Tomas, whose sense of service and passion can be felt throughout and is refined with a pleasant touch of warmth and humor. The breakfast is enriched by products of their own creation (jam and yogurt) and paired with the wonderful garden view it's a wonderful start to the day. We enjoyed the time out very much and wish you the best for your heart project.

GermanyThe pillow was not very comfortable - but that is, as always, a matter of personal preference.
What a magnificent hotel! I came to admire the beautiful Art Nouveau décor and indeed it was worth the trip. The house is beautifully renovated, there is a huge garden and a cosy lounge. I also liked my room under the roof. The breakfast is excellent (with homemade jams) and varied. The two hosts are warm and friendly people and one can only wish that they can continue to run this special house for a long time. The Het Leen forest park is a quarter of an hour's walk away, and there is plenty to do here (hiking, cycling).
